BARKADA KONTRA DROGA-BANGKAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

I. RATIONALE:
In pursuance of Ambisyon Natin 2040, providing a healthy lifestyle for Filipinos, the Department of
Education – Division of Davao del Sur in partnership with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB)
intensified the drug abuse awareness program against the usage of illegal drugs. Barkada Kontra
Droga can give healthy well-being and prevention of the youth from the negative effects of dangerous
drugs.

On this note, Barkada Kontra Droga Advocacies with wholesome activities are provided to empower
students, teachers, parents, stakeholders, and the community to join in this endeavor to achieve the
goal. These activities will give opportunities to DepEd to intensify BKD in its implementation in
collaboration with different agencies. It will also open the chance for schools to promote and take pride
in their best practices in the implementation of the DepEd programs through one segment.

A.5. Activity Rationale:


Cosplay is one of the collaborative activities of Barkada Kontra Droga and Yes-O that
encourage creativity and self-expression. This COSPlay stands for Character of a Sober Play
which encourages the candidates to create a costume that showed a sober character which
implies that a person is abstaining from drinking alcohol or taking intoxicating drugs Cosplay
allows students to showcase their creativity and imagination by dressing up as their favorite
characters. BKD planned to promote cultural awareness. Cosplay events can help students
learn about different cultures and their pop culture references. The BKD Art Core Leader was
tapped to give inputs on the creation of their costumes to the BKD Grade Level

Representatives. Through this, the students will be able to build community and teamwork.
Cosplay events can help students build relationships with each other and work together on
costumes and presentations. The photos of the costume created and the candidate wearing
the Cosplay costume will be posted on Facebook ready for online voting. It can boost
students’ confidence. Cosplay events can help create a fun and exciting atmosphere in the
school, boosting school morale and spirit. To encourage learning: the teachers teaching
history, art, and literature were also requested to support the activity by integrating Cosplay
into their lessons as a teaching tool. In this way, it can help in promoting and strengthening
the goal and actions of BKD leaders and advocates to help the youth/community feel that they
are given importance and care.

A.6. Objective:
This eighteen full days BKD COSPlay activity aims to provide appropriate knowledge, skills,
and attitude for the participants to be able to:

1. Encourage learners’ creativity, self-expression, and learning.


2. Strengthen the implementation of the BKD goals of building community teamwork;
3. Promote the school’s best practices in the implementation of BKD programs, projects, and
activities.

Expected Output:
Attendance sheets of the participants, actual photos of the Cosplay costume, photoshoot of
the candidates, parent consent and waiver for photos and videos, screenshots of the social
media activities related to the Cosplay event, and the Accomplished Evaluation Sheet

A.7. Methodology:
1. Activity Design will be conceptualized and submitted to the District Office
for approval
2. Intensify the Sustainable Development Goals and Ambisyon Natin 2040
to help them feel secure over their entire lifetime.
3. Teachers will be given a copy of the approved Activity Design.
4. Activities will be conducted based on the activity matrix.
5. Accomplishment report will be crafted and submitted to the School Head
and District Supervisor for record keeping.
