SUBJECT: 2024 DISTRICT SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE

1. Relative to Division Memorandum No. 39 s. 2024 re: 2024 Division Schools

Press Conference and pursuant to RA 7079 otherwise known as Campus
Journalism Act of 1991, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR)
specially Rule IX of Section 1, this Office announces the conduct of 2024
District Schools Press Conference (DSPC) on February 15, 2024 at Sulangon
National High School with the theme: “Charting Truth: Journalism as a
Catalyst for Positive Change in the Media Landscape of 2024.”

2. The objectives of this conference are the following:

a. Demonstrate understanding of journalism through skillful execution in

various platforms (print, broadcast, online);
b. Recognize the role of journalism through skillful execution in various
platforms;
c. Promote fair and ethical use of media as tenets of responsible
journalism;
d. Foster camaraderie and enrich learning experiences through healthy
and friendly competitions; and
e. Provide learners opportunities to use the skills in campus journalism
for their future careers.

3. DSPC activities shall include the following:

4. The top 5 winners in all contest shall be recognized. Top 3 will received
medals while 4th and 5th placers will receive certificates. The Top 3 District
Winners per Medium in the individual categories, First Placer in the Group
Categories per Medium (composed of 5 members each team) are eligible to
participate in the 2024 Division Schools Press Conference on February 27-28 at
Dapitan City National High School.
