CANTALLOPEZ, PhD
Dr. Estrella A. Cantallopez is the current director of the Research and Publication
Office and of the Peace Center of Davao Central College, Toril, Davao City.
(End of contract-May 31, 2022)
Other positions currently held (on call):
1. Part time instructor of Region 11, Davao City, and National Police Institute,
Bangsamoro Autonomous Region Police Training Center, Parang, Maguindanao.
2. Reviewer of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Education based in USM or Universiti
Sains Malaysia.
Previously, she was connected with Notre Dame University, Cotabato City where she served as:
1. Full-time professor in the undergrad and part time professor in the graduate
school;
2. Chairperson, Languages Department
3. Peace Education Program Officer and Acting Director of the Notre Dame
University Peace Center
In 2012, Dr. Cantallopez was declared member of the Circle of Laureates
of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. for her achievements in peace and
community development.
After retirement from Notre Dame University, she worked as Research Director and
later, Research Consultant of the Notre Dame Hospital and School of Midwifery
(NDHSM), Cotabato City.
In 2015, she was hired by the Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) now
Cotabato State University, where she served as:
1. Editor-in-Chief, CCSPC Research Journal;
2. Director, Community Extension Services; and
3. Dean, CCSPC Graduate School
Dr. Cantallopez is a holder of the following degrees:
1. Bachelor of Arts- Major in Sociology, Minor in English, earned from Notre Dame
of Jolo College, Jolo, Sulu (1980)
2. Master of Arts in Language Studies, Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City, on
scholarship granted by the Mindanao Advance Education Program of the
Commission on Higher Education (1997-1999)
3. Completed Academic Requirements, Master of Arts in Education- Major in
Peace Education, Notre Dame University (1996); and,
4. Doctor of Philosophy in Peace and Development, earned from Notre Dame
University, Cotabato City (2010)

Also, she had extensive trainings in:


1. Social Research at the Ateneo de Manila University a scholarship granted by the
Philippine Social Science Council
2. College Teaching at Centro Escolar University, FAPE scholarship
3. Academic Community Extension, at SEARSOLIN or Southeast Asia Leadership
Institute, Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City; and,
4. Community Development, at Asian Social Institute, Manila on scholarship
granted by Notre Dame University.
Dr. Cantallopez has served as resource person on peace and development and
peacebuilding for teachers, students, government employees, armed
conflict affected community people, MNLF and MILF former combatants,
law enforcers and soldiers.
