(a) Mineral conservation in respect of exploration. :
He acknowledges that exploration play vital role to know the presence and extension of ore
body within a lease area. And this will reflect on the resources estimation as well as mining.
So, he plays active role during spot selection for exploration. He gives full attention during
exploration as well as different grade of drill out.

(b) Mineral conservation in Sub Grade Management :

He acknowledges that the threshold value of Iron Ore is considered as 45% Fe and cut off
grade is taken as 58% Fe. The ores of different grade has been stacked separately.
Utilization of mineral rejects by blending after stacking of directly. Low grade ore is preserved
for future use. He supervises during the recovery of saleable material from old
lowgrade/subgrade stacks through dry screening as per the proposal in mining plan.

Waste Dump Management.:
He supervise during the waste & subgrade dumping carefully. The generated waste is
dumped as per the preselected dumping site as per the mining plan considering the max.
terrace height, width & slope respectively. The barriers and channels are properly
maintained along the dump terraces. Length of 1990 m of retaining wall and garland drain has
been already constructed at the toe of the dump slopes. 1 no of catch drain have already
been constructed across the dump slope to avoid the dump wash off and rain cuts. 1 no of
settling tanks have been constructed at the toe of dump slope connecting the garland drains
to allow the silt free water pass through it. 6.5 ha. of area of Geo-textile coir mat has been
spread over the dump slope to avoid soil erosion & rapid dump stabilisation. The plantation &
16.5 ha. seedling of grass seeds have been done densely and germination of grass on dump
slope very nicely.

(c) Monitoring of mineral conservation in blasting, sorting, sizing, blending etc:

He is very careful during the blending of low grade ore with high grade ore to make it
saleable. He carefully differentiate the OB benches from ore benches which can physically
separable to avoid the intermixing. Accordingly he supervise the blasting programme. As the
ROM is admixture of low & high grade ore, he carefully feed the processing plants so that to
produce maximum saleable ore.

(d) Publicity Propaganda among the minors for mineral conservation: Drama on mining
and environmental awareness, Posters, Slogans, Model (Mine, Machineries), Debate, quiz,
lectures, skill development & vocational training programmes for local communities, standard
operating procedures and its review, illumination , Digital publicity etc.
