1. İngilizce’deki en yaygın fiil “olmak” anlamındaki “be” fiilidir. Geniş zamanda “am - is -
are” şeklinde çekimlenir.

2. “be” fiilinden sonra temel olarak kullanılan 3 farklı yapı vardır.

3. “There is” ve “There are” bir şeyin bir yerde “var” olduğunu söylemek için kullanılır. Bir
yerde bulunan şeyler, kişileri ve yerleri ifade etmek için kullanılır.

Her zaman isimlerden önce kullanılır.

için kullanılır.

2. Zaman bağlaçları iki cümleyi birbirine bağlamak için kullanılır. Zaman bağlacının sağına
YAN CÜMLE (Time Clause) denir ve diğer cümleye de ANA CÜMLE (Main Clause)
denir. Zaman bağlaçları iki cümlenin ortasında gelebilir.
