THE HUMAN

ORGAN
SYSTEM AT
WORK
PRESENTED BY: LINDLEVER R. MARCOS
OBJECTIVES
I. IDENTIFY THE DIFFERENT HUMAN ORGAN
SYSTEMS AT WORK

II. EVALUATE WAYS TO TAKE CARE OF THE

ORGANS SYSTEM

III. DRAW THE DIFFERENT HUMAN ORGAN SYSTEM

AT WORK
THE HUMAN ORGAN SYSTEM AT WORK

An organ system is a group of organs that

work together in the body to perform a
complex function, such as pumping blood or
processing and utilizing nutrients.
MAJOR ORGAN SYSTEM

1. INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM
4. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
2. SKELETAL SYSTEM
5. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
3. MASCULAR SYSTEM
6. NERVOUS SYSTEM
INTEGUMENTARY
SYSTEM
INTEGUMENTARY
SYSTEM
includes the skin, hair and nails.
SKIN
the outer covering of the body and is the
largest organ of the integumentary system.
the first layer of defense from dirt and
germs
prevents the leakage of body fluids.
prevents our internal organs from being
exposed
sense of touch
WHAT ARE THE COMMON SKIN DISEASE THAT
WE ARE ENCOUNTER?
ACNE
ATHLETE`S FOOT
SCABIES
SKIN DISEASE
HOW DO WE TAKE CARE OF OUR SKIN?
REGULAR BATH
HEALTHY DIET
USE SUNSCREEN
SKELETAL
SYSTEM
The Skeletal System consist of bones,
connective tissues and joints.
The Skeleton provides the basic shape of
the human body and supports the different
internal organs.
Works with muscles
SKELETAL SYSTEM
BONES
There are 206 bones in the adult human
body.
JOINTS
parts of the body where two or more bones
meet to allow movements
CONNECTIVE TISSUES
Cartilage is found in the tip of the nose,
outer ears and between vertebrae of the
spinal column
HOW DO WE TAKE CARE OF OUR SKELETAL
SYSTEM?
We need to get enough calcium to make our bone
strong
we need to eat or drink foods that are rich in calcium
such as milk, yogurt, cheese and dairy foods.
MUSCULAR SYSTEM
MUSCULAR
SYSTEM
Enable us to move our body parts to
perform various task.
Muscles and bones are attached to each
other by tendons.
Help food move through our digestive tract,
flow of blood through blood vessels and
breathing.
HOW CAN WE MAKE OUR MUSCLES HEALTHY?
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

Made up of the digestive tract and other

organs that help the body break dowm and
absorb the food.
it is a long twisting tube that starts at the
mouth and goes through the esophagus,
stomach, small intestine, large intestine and
anus.
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Digestive system may be infected by germs
that cause diarrhea, vomiting and cholera.

To take care our digestibe system organs must:

Clean
Cook properly the food that we take
Washing of hands with soap
The water that we drink should be free of
germs and parasites.
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
The circulatory system transports oxygen
and nutrients to all corners of the body. It
also carries away carbon dioxide and other
waste products.
Made up of blood vessels that carry blood
away from and towars the heart.
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM

BLOOD BLOOD VESSELS

HEART
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
The most active part of the body

It has four chambers

1. Left ventricle
2. Left auricle
3. Right ventricle
HEART 4. Right auricle
CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM
main components

plasma
formed elements which are the red blood
cells, white blood cells and platelets.

BLOOD
NERVOUS SYSTEM
NERVOUS SYSTEM

Our ability to do things is coordinated

functions of the different organ system that
are controlled and monitored by the
nervous system.
The central and peripheral nervous system
comprise the human nervous system.
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Central Nervous System

it includes the brain and the spinal cord

BRAIN - is the control center of the vital
activities for survival including emotions,
learning, abilities, and talents.
The brain is divided into three parts:
cerebrum
cerebellum
brainstem
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Cerebrum

the largest part and has the brain centers that

controls thought processes, speech, motor,
touch, pressure, smell, hearing, vision and facial
recognition

Cerebellum
tthe second largest part of the brain
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Brain Stem

connects the brain to the spinal cord

Parts of the Brain Stem

Midbrain
Pons
Medulla
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Spinal Cord

the spinal cord inside your body vertebral

column connects the brain to all parts of the
body via different nerves.
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Peripheral Nervous System

Includes the network of nerves throughout the

body. These includes the sensory neurons from
the sense organs and the motor neurons in
muscles or glands for action or response
How can we take care of our Nervous
System?
