Motion detectors

A motion sensor, or motion detector, is an electronic device that uses a sensor to

detect nearby people or objects. Motion sensors are an important component of any
security system. When a sensor detects motion, it will send an alert to your security
system, and with newer systems, right to your mobile phone.
Door contact sensors communicate to a security system if doors or windows are closed
or open. They can be installed all over a house on windows, doors, or even desk
drawers and lockers. Available in two pieces, one part of contact sensors is installed on
the door while the other piece is xed on the door jamb or frame.

A motion detector has less detection areas so is less sensitive and generally
designed to detect a movement of an arm. It is best suited to high traffic areas
such as hallways. A presence detector is significantly more sensitive so will detect
finer movement such as a hand moving.
Presence Detection

Detectors will switch on lighting

automatically when a person
enters the room, and switches o
lighting automatically when no
movement is detected.
ff
Absence Detection

Upon entering the room the person

switches on the light as normal, but on
leaving the detector switches o the
lighting automatically. Lights can also be
switched o manually.

Light Activated Switch is a simple electrical project circuit by which we can
switch on and off the electrical load appliances like lights, fans, coolers, air
conditioners, street lights, etc., automatically based on the day-light
intensity instead of manually operating the switches.
