This set of Specifications has been prepared specifically for this project.
1.10 SUPERINTENDENCE
Maintain at the job site, at all times, qualified personnel and supporting staff, with proven
experience in erecting, supervising, testing and adjusting projects of comparable nature and
complexity.
The supervising personnel and their qualifications are subject to the approval of the Engineer.
1.11 EXPEDITING
Continuously check and expedite delivery of equipment and materials. If necessary, inspect at
the source of manufacture.
Continuously check and expedite the flow of necessary information to and from all parties
involved.
Immediately inform the Engineer in case information is required from him.
Provide equipment delivery records updated monthly or more frequent as requested by
Engineer.
1.13 CLEANING
Before energizing any systems, inspect and clean the inside of panel boards, high and medium
voltage switchgear and cabinets to ensure that they are completely free from dust and debris.
Clean all polished, painted and plated work bright. Clean all lighting fixtures.
Remove all debris, surplus material and all tools.
Carry out additional cleaning operating of systems as specified in other sections of this section.
1.15 METALS
Steel construction required solely for the work of electrical trades and not shown on
architectural or structural drawings shall be provided by this trade in accordance with the
applicable Divisions of the Specification.
Dielectric Separator.
1.16 FLASHING
Flashing through the roof will be carried out by the roofing Contractor covered under other
Divisions of the Specification.
This Contractor shall supply, and position all the necessary sleeves to enable the roofing
Contractor to carry out the work.
1.17 WORKMANSHIP
Install equipment, ductwork, conduit and cables in a workmanlike manner to present a neat
appearance and to function properly to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Install neatly and group
to present a tidy appearance.
Install equipment and apparatus requiring maintenance, adjustment or eventual replacement
with due allowance therefore.
Include in the work all requirements of manufacturers shown on the shop drawings or
manufacturers installation instructions.
Replace work unsatisfactory to the Engineer without extra cost.
Make provision to accommodate future plant and equipment indicated on drawings.
Protect from damage all equipment delivered to the site and during installation. Any damage or
marking of finished surfaces shall be made good to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
1.22 SUBMITTALS
Shop drawings as listed in each section and requested by the Engineer.

2. Equipment Brochures and Service Manuals:
3. Before requesting acceptance of work, furnish the number of sets of manufacturer’s
equipment brochures as required in the Contract Documents and consisting of:
a. Equipment and components, descriptive literature.
b. Equipment model number, serial number and performance data.
c. Installation instructions.
d. Testing and commissioning instructions.
e. Operating instructions.
f. Maintenance and repair instructions.
g. Spare parts index.
h. Lubrication instructions.
Assemble manufacture’s equipment manuals in chronological order following the specification
alpha-numerical system using heavy duty three ring binders.
Field Test Reports.
Warranties.
Authorities Inspection Reports.
System Verification Certificates.
Provide one licensed original set of all software used complete with user’s manuals, and where
copyright bye-laws allow, provide software copy permit for Employer’s in-house use.
1.26 TESTING
Furnish all labour, material, instruments, supplies and services and bear all costs for the
accomplishment of the rests listed below and in relevant sections of the specification. Correct all
defects appearing under tests and repeat the tests until no defects are disclosed; leave the
equipment clean and ready for use.
1. Power generation and distribution system including phasing, voltage, grounding, load
balancing and coordination.
2. Lighting and Low Voltage Control.
3. Motors, heaters and associated control equipment including sequenced operation of
system where applicable.
1.28 COMMISSIONING
General
1. The final start-up operation of all systems shall be coordinated with other trades
participating in the construction and shall be in accordance with the schedule detailed in
other Divisions of this specification.
2. All systems are to be released to the Engineer certified ready for use and operating in a
satisfactory manner to meet the performance requirements of the specifications.
