SECTION 26 05 00_ELECTRICAL GENERAL PROVISION
PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS


The work of this Division shall be governed by the following documents:
1. Conditions of Contract.
2. Instructions to Tenderers.
3. Form of Agreement.
4. General and Special Conditions of Contract.
5. Form of Tender.
6. Appendices.
7. Applicable Divisions.
It is the Contractor's responsibility to be fully aware of and comply with all of the requirements
of the above listed documents.

1.2 SCOPE OF WORK


The works of this contract will include, but are not limited to:
1. This section supplements the main contract documents “General Requirements” and
forms part of every section of Division 26 Electrical trade, and shall be read in conjunction
with all sections of this specification.
2. This specification covers the design of details; supply, installation and testing of all
necessary equipment required for the complete Electrical Engineering Services as
described in the Contract Documents and incorporate standard descriptions for
equipment and the installation to be provided under this Contract. The clauses shall be
read in conjunction with all other Contract Documents.
3. Where, for special reasons, requirements differ from those included in this General
Technical Specification and are specified in the particular detail Specification or on the
associated drawings, then such special requirements shall supersede the general
requirements of this particular Specification Section.
4. The words as indicated, where indicated, unless otherwise indicated, refer to requirements
identified elsewhere in the documents issued in connection with the Contract, e.g. on a
drawing, in the Specification or in a schedule.
5. The extent of the work shall comprise the whole management, programming, labour and
materials required to form a complete installation, together with such tests, adjustments
and commissioning as prescribed in subsequent clauses and otherwise as may be required
in order to provide an effective working installation to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
6. The words complete installation in the foregoing clause shall mean not only the major
items of plant and equipment covered by this Specification, but all the incidental sundry
components that are required for the complete execution of the works. Also for the
proper operation of the installation, together with associated labour charges, whether or
not these sundry components are mentioned in detail in the Tender documents issued in
connection with the Contract.

7. Main Low Voltage switchboards: Supply and installation of the Main Low Voltage
switchboards (MLV) complete with all metering and instruments.
8. Sub-main and final distribution boards: Supply and installation of sub-main distribution
boards and final distribution boards complete with all metering and instruments.
9. Supply and installation of armoured cables to sub-main distribution boards, final
distribution boards, mechanical equipment, elevators, generators and all other mechanical
equipment as detailed.
10. Supply and installation of cable containments for the cables described above.
Generators: Supply and installation of emergency generators as detailed, complete with
generator switchboards incorporating full synchronization and paralleling equipment, cabling
and inter-wiring.
1. Supply and installation of armoured cables to and from generators and generator
switchboards.
2. Supply and installation of cable containments for the cables described above.
3. Supply and installation of daily service tanks.
4. Provide on-site a load bank complete with required cabling for testing the generators. The
load bank shall be capable of producing a 125% load to the system.
5. Busbar trunking system: Supply and installation of busbar trunking systems including all
accessories as detailed.
6. Lighting: Supply and installation of a complete lighting system as shown on drawings,
incorporating intelligent / central lighting control, low voltage switching, emergency
lighting, exit signs, external lights.
7. Power: Supply and installation of a complete small power installation.
8. Underfloor Trunking: Supply and installation of underfloor trunking system including all
accessories as detailed.
9. Mechanical Equipment: Supply and installation of a complete electrical installation to all
mechanical equipment as detailed. Make final connections to equipment supplied under
Division 15.
10. Miscellaneous Equipment: Supply and installation of a complete electrical installation to
provide power to systems provided by other divisions. These include but are not limited
to Elevators, Motorized doors, Gate Barriers etc.
11. Communications: Supply and installation of a complete communications system including
conduits, ducting, manholes and cabling for telephones, data and CATV systems as
detailed.
12. Fire Alarm: Supply and installation of a complete fire alarm system including conduits,
ducting, manholes and cabling for fire alarm and voice alarm systems as detailed.
13. Low Current Systems: Supply and installation of a complete system including conduits,
ducting, manholes for low current systems including security systems, intercom systems,
public address system.
14. Wiring and Containments: Supply and installation of all electrical wiring and containments
to all the above systems.
15. General: Make final connections to all equipment supplied under other Divisions.
16. Grounding: Supply and installation of a complete grounding (earthing) system as detailed.

17. Lightning Protection: Supply and installation of a complete lightning protection system as
detailed.
18. Power factor correction units: Supply and installation of a complete power factor
correction units system as detailed.
19. Uninterruptible power supply: Supply and installation of a complete UPS system as
detailed.
20. Programmable Lighting Control System: Supply and installation of a complete PLC system
as detailed.

1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE


The manufacturers of all materials and equipment must have at least five years of experience in
the design and manufacture of their products.

1.4 WORK INCLUDED


The sections of the Electrical Specifications are intended neither to delegate functions nor to
delegate work and supply to any specific trade.
The work shall include all labour, materials, equipment and tools required for a complete and
working installation as described, but not necessarily limited to items in the following sections:

1.5 DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS


If obvious ambiguities or omissions are noticed when tendering, refer the same to the Engineer
for a ruling and obtain the ruling in writing in the form of an Addendum. Claims for extras,
ambiguities or omission of items brought to the attention of the Engineer after the award of the
contract that should have been brought to the attention of the Engineer during the tendering
period, will not be allowed.
The drawings show locations for apparatus and materials. Do not scale off the drawings. The
locations shown are approximate; refer to Architect’s drawings to meet requirements for the
material and/or apparatus, other equipment and systems being installed and for the building.
Prepare working detail drawings supplementary to the Contract drawings, of all equipment areas
where a multiplicity of materials and/or apparatus occur, where sleeves and architectural and
structural considerations involves special study and treatment. Such drawings may be prepared
jointly by all trades affected, or by the one trade most affected with due regard and approval of
the other trades, all according to the Engineer’s direction in each instance. Such drawings must
be reviewed by the Engineer before the affected work is installed.
Carry out all alterations necessary in the arrangement of work which has been installed without
proper study and approval, in order to make such work come within the finish lines of walls,
floors and ceilings.
Install ceiling mounted components (lighting fixtures, detectors, speakers) in accordance with
Architects reflected ceiling plan drawings.
Confirm on the site the exact location and mounting elevation of outlets and fixtures as related
to architectural and structural details. Confirm location of outlets and/or connection points for
equipment supplied by other trades, or by the Employer.
Prepare and submit to the Engineer for approval:
1. Builders’ works drawings, for use by the structural trades detailing all electrical services
penetrating walls or floor slabs.
2. Detailed layout drawings of all electrical equipment in all electrical rooms.
3. Detailed substation equipment drawings.
Coordinate location and size of access panels with Division 1. Obtain Engineer’s approval

1.6 PERMITS, CERTIFICATES AND FEES


Refer to the General Conditions.
Obtain from the Municipality and/or Utilities, all required permits to complete the work of
Division 26. When work is complete, supply and turn over to the Employer all required
inspection certificates from all governing authorities to certify that the work as installed
conforms to the rules and regulations of the governing authorities.
Pay all fees and charges levied by the Municipality, Utilities and any other governing authority
for permits, inspections and certificates, and work performed by the Municipality or Utilities in
connection with the work of Division 26.
Comply with the requirements of the latest edition of the Applicable Standards, the
requirements of the Authorities and all applicable codes.

Authorities’ codes and or requirements take precedence over the Contract Documents. In no
instance shall the standard established in the drawings and specification be compromised.
Before starting any work, submit the required number of copies of drawings and specifications
to the authorities for their approval and comments. Comply with any changes requested as part
of the Contract, but notify the Engineer immediately of such changes for proper processing of
these requirements. Prepare and furnish any additional drawings, details or information as may
be required. One copy of the drawings as “approved” by the authorities shall be handed to the
Employer for their records prior to commencement of work.
Obtain from authorities the final inspection certificate application form. Submit to the Employer
for the Employer to complete and sign. Return the completed form to authority and obtain their
final inspection certificate, letter of approval and quotation for final connection. The Employer
will pay the final connection costs directly to the authority. Coordinate and assist the authority
in the final connection scheduling and execution.
Comply with requirements of the General Conditions.

1.7 SPECIFIED, ACCEPTABLE AND ALTERNATE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS


Where a base manufacturer’s name and model number is mentioned, it is for the purpose of
setting a standard of quality, performance, capacity, appearance and serviceability. Acceptable
alternative manufacturers will be listed, where deemed necessary and can be used in the
preparation of the tender.
If materials or apparatus manufactured and/or supplied by a manufacturer named acceptable
alternative are used in lieu of the manufacturer specified, be responsible for ensuring that the
substituted material or apparatus is equivalent in performance and operating characteristics to
the specified materials or apparatus, and it shall be understood that all costs for larger starters,
additional space, power feeders and changes to associated or adjacent work will be borne by the
Contractor.
In addition, in mechanical and electrical rooms where apparatus named as acceptable alternative
is used in lieu of base specified apparatus and the dimensions of such apparatus differs from the
specified apparatus, prepare and submit for approval, accurately dimensioned layouts of rooms
affected.
Be responsible to inform other trades of changes to equipment which affects their work. Failure
to do so will result in the contractor bearing the costs of other trades to revise their work.

1.8 MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT


All equipment, material, wiring and devices shall be new, shall conform to the requirements of
the authorities for the purpose for which they are to be used. All equipment shall be designed
and manufactured in accordance with applicable British Standards or equal.
All material shall be CFC free and shall bear a clear cut mark indicating that they are eco-friendly
and free from Ozone layer depleting contents.

1.9 TEMPORARY SERVICES


Refer to the applicable Divisions of the Contract Documents regarding temporary services,
Contractor’s shop, storage and other such facilities.
Do not use any of the permanent Electrical Systems during construction unless specific written
approval is obtained from the Engineer. The approved usage shall not in any way affect the
commencement day of the Warranty period.

The approved usage of the permanent Electrical system shall not be considered as acceptance
by the Employer.

1.10 SUPERINTENDENCE
Maintain at the job site, at all times, qualified personnel and supporting staff, with proven
experience in erecting, supervising, testing and adjusting projects of comparable nature and
complexity.
The supervising personnel and their qualifications are subject to the approval of the Engineer.

1.11 EXPEDITING
Continuously check and expedite delivery of equipment and materials. If necessary, inspect at
the source of manufacture.
Continuously check and expedite the flow of necessary information to and from all parties
involved.
Immediately inform the Engineer in case information is required from him.
Provide equipment delivery records updated monthly or more frequent as requested by
Engineer.

1.12 TRIAL USAGE


The Employer has the privilege of the trial usage of electrical systems or parts thereof for the
purpose of testing and learning the operational procedures.
Carry out the trial usage over a period of time as requested by the Employer.
Carry out the operation only with the express knowledge and under supervision of the Sub-
Contractor who shall not waive any responsibility because of trail usage.
Trial usage shall not be construed as acceptance by the Employer.
All costs associated with trial usage shall be borne by the Contractor.

1.13 CLEANING
Before energizing any systems, inspect and clean the inside of panel boards, high and medium
voltage switchgear and cabinets to ensure that they are completely free from dust and debris.
Clean all polished, painted and plated work bright. Clean all lighting fixtures.
Remove all debris, surplus material and all tools.
Carry out additional cleaning operating of systems as specified in other sections of this section.

1.14 EXAMINATION OF SITE AND DOCUMENTATION


Prior to submitting a tender carefully examine conditions at the site which may or will affect the
work. Refer to and examine all Contract Documents.
Refer also to room finish schedules to determine finished, partially finished and unfinished areas
of the building.

1.15 METALS
Steel construction required solely for the work of electrical trades and not shown on
architectural or structural drawings shall be provided by this trade in accordance with the
applicable Divisions of the Specification.

Comply with the requirements of Division 1

1.16 FLASHING
Flashing through the roof will be carried out by the roofing Contractor covered under other
Divisions of the Specification.
This Contractor shall supply, and position all the necessary sleeves to enable the roofing
Contractor to carry out the work.

1.17 WORKMANSHIP
Install equipment, ductwork, conduit and cables in a workmanlike manner to present a neat
appearance and to function properly to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Install neatly and group
to present a tidy appearance.
Install equipment and apparatus requiring maintenance, adjustment or eventual replacement
with due allowance therefore.
Include in the work all requirements of manufacturers shown on the shop drawings or
manufacturers installation instructions.
Replace work unsatisfactory to the Engineer without extra cost.
Make provision to accommodate future plant and equipment indicated on drawings.
Protect from damage all equipment delivered to the site and during installation. Any damage or
marking of finished surfaces shall be made good to the satisfaction of the Engineer.

1.18 MOUNTING HEIGHTS


Mounting height of equipment is from finished floor to centerline of equipment unless specified
or indicated otherwise.
If mounting height of equipment is not indicated verify before proceeding with installation.
Install electrical equipment at the following heights from finished floor level unless indicated
otherwise.
1. Local switches: 1400mm.
2. Wall Socket Outlets:
a. General: 450 mm
b. Above top of counters or splash back: 175 mm
c. In mechanical room: 1400 mm
3. Panel boards (Surface or Recessed): 1800 mm at top of the Panel.
4. Telephone, data and interphone outlets: 450 mm
5. Wall mounted telephone and intercom outlets: 1500 mm
6. Fire alarm stations: 1500 mm
7. Fire alarm sounders: 2100 mm (unless flush mounted in the ceiling or if ceiling height
does not permit).

1.19 AMBIENT TEMPERATURE


The ambient temperature of 50 Deg. C is the basis on which all electrical equipment shall be
rated.
The load designation of equipment detailed on the drawings is for the on-site condition
requirement.

The electrical contractor shall provide equipment derated to meet the on-site load requirements.

1.20 PRODUCT DELIVERY HANDLING


Shipping and Moving of Equipment:
1. Ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site at the proper time and in
such assemblies and sizes so as to enter into the building and to be moved into the
spaces where they are to be located without difficulty.
2. Be responsible for any cutting and patching involved in getting assemblies into place.

1.21 STORAGE AND INSTALLATION


Store all equipment and supplies in a manner approved by the Engineer.
Accessibility:
1. For operation, maintenance and repair.
2. Minor deviations from drawings for accessibility are permissible subject to the approval of
the Engineer.
3. Group concealed equipment requiring access so as to be freely accessible through access
doors.
4. Comply with the requirements of Clause 1.5 of this section.

1.22 SUBMITTALS
Shop drawings as listed in each section and requested by the Engineer.
1. Refer to other Divisions of the contract.
2. Equipment Brochures and Service Manuals:
3. Before requesting acceptance of work, furnish the number of sets of manufacturer’s
equipment brochures as required in the Contract Documents and consisting of:
a. Equipment and components, descriptive literature.
b. Equipment model number, serial number and performance data.
c. Installation instructions.
d. Testing and commissioning instructions.
e. Operating instructions.
f. Maintenance and repair instructions.
g. Spare parts index.
h. Lubrication instructions.
Assemble manufacture’s equipment manuals in chronological order following the specification
alpha-numerical system using heavy duty three ring binders.
Field Test Reports.
Warranties.
Authorities Inspection Reports.
System Verification Certificates.
Provide one licensed original set of all software used complete with user’s manuals, and where
copyright bye-laws allow, provide software copy permit for Employer’s in-house use.

1.23 PATENTS
Pay all royalties and license fees, and defend all suits or claims for infringement of any patent
rights, and save the Employer, Engineer and Architect harmless of loss or annoyance on account
of suit, or claims of any kind for violation or infringement of any letters patent or patent rights,
by this Contractor or anyone directly or indirectly employed by him or by reason of the use by
him or them of any part, machine, manufacture or composition of matter on the work, in
violation or infringement or such letters patent or rights.

1.24 INSTRUCTIONS TO THE EMPLOYER


Instruct the Employer’s representatives in all aspects of the operation of all systems and
equipment. Provide five (5) Nos. training manuals for the Employer’s use.
Arrange for, and pay for services of service engineers and other manufacturer’s representatives
required for instruction on specialized portions of the installation. These specialized systems are:
1. Automatic Fire Detection & Alarm and Emergency Voice Communication System.
2. Stand by Generator System.
3. Distribution System (Switchboard, Distribution & Branch Circuit Panel boards).
4. Low Current Systems.

1.25 SYSTEM ACCEPTANCE


Submit original letters from the manufacturers of systems listed hereinafter or their legally
authorized representative indicating that their technical representatives have inspected and
tested respective systems and are satisfied with the method of installation, connection and
operation.
These letters shall state the names of persons present at testing, the methods used, and a list of
functions performed with location and room numbers where applicable.
Submit such letters for the following:
1. Automatic Fire Detection & Alarm and Emergency Voice Communication System.
2. Standby Generator System
3. Distribution System (Switchboard, Distribution & Branch Circuit Panel boards)
4. Low Current Systems
5. Telecommunication systems
6. Busbar trunking systems
7. Earthing and Lightning protection systems

1.26 TESTING
Furnish all labour, material, instruments, supplies and services and bear all costs for the
accomplishment of the rests listed below and in relevant sections of the specification. Correct all
defects appearing under tests and repeat the tests until no defects are disclosed; leave the
equipment clean and ready for use.
1. Power generation and distribution system including phasing, voltage, grounding, load
balancing and coordination.
2. Lighting and Low Voltage Control.
3. Motors, heaters and associated control equipment including sequenced operation of
system where applicable.

4. Systems

Furnish all necessary supplies, equipment and labor for cleaning, testing, adjusting, and starting-
up of equipment; make and remove all temporary connections required for tests and dispose of
temporary testing equipment after tests.
Carry out final tests at a time suitable to and in the presence of the Employer and the Engineer.
Provide all necessary labor material and equipment necessary to assist in the performance of test
to be conducted by the local inspection authorities. Tests acceptance by these authorities shall
not be construed as acceptance by the Employer and the Engineer.

1.27 INSPECTION AND TESTING DURING MANUFACTURE


The Engineer or his representative shall be entitled at all reasonable times during manufacture to
inspect examine and test on the manufacturers premises the materials and workmanship of all
plant to be supplied.
In accordance with applicable divisions of the specifications the Contractor shall notify the
Engineer of the time and location of his manufacturing shop tests for the following listed

2. Distribution System (Switchboard, Distribution & Branch Circuit Panel boards)
Such inspection, examination or testing, if made, shall not release the contractor from any
obligation under the Contract.
The manufacturer shall provide labor, materials, electricity, water, fuel, stores, apparatus and
instruments as may be required and as may be reasonably demanded to carry out such tests.
All such inspections shall be documented as witnessed by the Engineer in writing with copies
issued to the Employer.
The Contractor shall pay for all costs incurred by the Engineer as specified in the General
Conditions of Contract.

1.28 COMMISSIONING
General
1. The final start-up operation of all systems shall be coordinated with other trades
participating in the construction and shall be in accordance with the schedule detailed in
other Divisions of this specification.
2. All systems are to be released to the Engineer certified ready for use and operating in a
satisfactory manner to meet the performance requirements of the specifications.

1.29 WARRANTY
Unless otherwise specified in other sections, the Contractor shall provide a manufacture’s full
warranty covering all products of this Division, valid for one year from date of system acceptance
/ Taking over Certificate.
Warranty Certificates: Refer to various specification sections.
1. Include these certificates with the maintenance and operating manuals in the appropriate
sections.
2. The warranty certificates shall be submitted signed and duly stamped clearly indicating
name of warrantor, effective date, validity and contact address for warranty claims.
3. Contractor shall provide a system warranty covering all parts, labor and performance to all
applied standards for a period of not less than one (1) year from the date of system
acceptance / Taking over Certificate.
4. Provide all Manufacturer extended product, performance, application, and labor
warranties that apply to any system provided.
5. Contractor shall agree to repair or replace defective components/materials and correct
defective work when given notice by the Employer during the warranty period.
6. Damage caused to completed work shall be replaced or repaired to the original condition
or better by the contractor at no additional cost to the Employer.

1.30 WORK ASSOCIATED WITH OTHER TRADES OR PARTIES


Some works and/or provisions associated with the Electrical Services shall be performed by other
trades or parties. Liaise and co-ordinate with other trades to ensure that all requirements are
provided as required for the completeness and proper operation of the equipment or system.
The following works and/or provisions shall be co-ordinated with other trades and parties:
1. Building Works:
a. Substation enclosure ducts, duct pit, duct pit covers, trench covers.
b. Fire rated main switch room.
c. Fire rated electrical riser cupboards.
d. Signage to electrical switch rooms and switchboard cupboards.
e. Penetrations through the building structure.
f. Forming trimmed openings in ceiling tiles for all recessed luminaires, speakers and
recessed mounted equipment.
g. Forming openings and providing supports in ceilings for recessed luminaires as
required.
h. Trimming and making good of wall linings and stud walls for accessories.
i. Provision of all rebates within walls and columns for flush mounted equipment
including all switches, switch panels, wall boxes, etc.
j. Access opening in ceilings, bulkheads and at other positions as required for access
to electrical cables and equipment.
k. Provision of hand dryers complete with wiring.
l. Provision of all electrical appliances and equipment
m. Provision of all cooking equipment complete with cooking control units and
connection units.

n. Scissor lift and dock levelers control panel and wiring to drive motors and controls
complete with power supply to each scissor lift and dock leveler.
o. Roller shutter and automatic sliding doors including control wiring, equipment and
limit switches complete with power supply.
p. Provision of all hoisting and lifting facilities.
q. Temporary construction power and lighting as necessary during the course of the
project including metering, regular testing and maintenance and removal prior to
practical completion.
2. Mechanical HVAC Services:
a. Provide discrimination details of switchgear, estimated harmonic current details up
to the 35th harmonic and maximum and normal demands of all mechanical HVAC
Services switchboards served from electrical sub-mains and switchboards and liaise
and co-ordinate the works. Provide details of voltage drop, fault level and earth
fault loop impedance at all switchboards served by sub-mains or at switchboards
derives the supply for the mechanical services installation or equipment including
the co-ordination of discrimination of switchgear at the respective switchboards.
b. Mechanical switchboards and associated power and control wiring for the complete
mechanical installation including adequate provision for connection of sub-mains.
c. Isolating switches and totally enclosed starters for stair and lift pressurization fans
adjacent to each fan, wiring from starters to fans, wiring of damper control systems
including adequate provision for connection of sub-mains.
d. Lights inside the built up air handling units, associated switches and wiring
complete with power supply with termination at isolator mounted, adjacent built up
air handling unit.
e. Fan coil units in all areas complete with spur outlets for each fan coil unit, liaise with
Mechanical Contractor for exact outlet location.
f. Provision of a digital output for the annunciation of critical plant alarms.
g. Provision of a digital input for the annunciation of critical faults on the Building
Management System.
3. Vertical Transportation:
a. Provide discrimination details of switchgear, harmonic current details up to the 35th
harmonic and maximum demand of all lift services served from electrical sub-mains
and liaise and co-ordinate the works. Provide details of voltage drop, fault level and
earth fault loop impedance at all lift supplies served by sub-mains from which the
Lift Services Contractor derives the supply for the lift services installation including
the co-ordination of discrimination of switchgear at the respective isolators.
b. Supply and installation of lift three phase and single phase isolators
including adequate provision for connection of sub-mains. Provide split and
connect sub-mains to both single and three phase isolators.
c. Provide termination point in each lift machine room for standby generator control
signals. Provide three no volt signal circuits via fire rated cable terminating at each
lift machine room for standby power operation of each lift. One circuit to indicate
standby power available, one circuit to indicate that standby power shall be
disconnected following a one to five minute delay and third circuit to indicate
Authority's power available. Time delays of 10 seconds, minimum, and adjustable

up to five minutes, shall be incorporated into the generator/sub-main controls prior
to disconnection of standby power and reconnection of normal Authority's power
to the lift sub-mains.
d. Lift machine room, shaft and pit lighting and power. Provide lift machine room
emergency and exit lighting luminaires. Where emergency lighting system is
monitored, emergency lighting junction box to be provided adjacent lift
switchboard.
e. Supply and installation of moving walkway/escalators isolators including adequate
provision for connection of sub-mains.
f. Supply and installation of moving walkway/escalator pit lighting and connection to
circuit breaker mounted and fed from moving walk/escalator isolator.
g. Co-ordination and attendance as required to prove correct operation of the lift
interface with the generator system.
4. Fire Services:
a. Provide discrimination details of switchgear, harmonic current details up to the 35th
harmonic and maximum demand of all fire services switchboards and equipment
served from electrical sub-mains and switchboards and liaise and co-ordinate the
works. Provide details of voltage drop, fault level and earth fault loop impedance at
all switchboards served by sub-mains or at switchboards from which the Fire
Services Contractor derives the supply for the fire services installation or equipment
including the co-ordination of discrimination of switchgear at the respective
switchboards.
b. Fire pumps, control panels and associated cabling including adequate provision for
connection of sub-mains.
c. Control and Indicating Equipment and fire detection system. Provide and connect
sub-mains to Control and Indicating Equipment.
d. Portable fire extinguisher in main switch room.
e. Shielded fire sprinklers in vicinity of electrical switchboards.
f. Sprinkler jacking pump. Provide screw cap socket outlet.
g. Gas suppression system for all main switch rooms and substation.
5. Plumbing and Drainage Services:
a. Provide discrimination details of switchgear, harmonic current details up to the 35th
harmonic and maximum demand of all Public Health services switchboards served
from sub-mains and switchboards and liaise and co-ordinate the works. Provide
details of voltage drop, fault level and earth fault loop impedance at all
switchboards served by sub-mains or at switchboards from which the Hydraulic
Services Contractor derives the supply for the Hydraulic Services installation or
equipment including the co-ordination of discrimination of switchgear at the
respective switchboards.
b. Pump control panels including adequate provision for connection of sub-mains.
Provide and connect sub-mains to panel.
c. Boiling water units and hot water service units complete with sub-circuit cabling,
isolator and connection.
