METHOD STATEMENT
FOR
CUTTING & BREAKING OF CONCRETE FLOOR.
CONTENTS
1. INTRODUCTION
This method statement describes the methodology to be employed in the safe execution of the cutting, breaking of
concrete floor.
■ Site Engineer:
The Site Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the workers involved in the work are familiar with the
requirements of this method statement and related specifications, standards.
■ Supervisor:
Supervisor is responsible to check the elevation and coordinates of the each part of activity to be done.
▪ Excavator.
▪ Tractor/Trolley.
▪ Jackhammer.
▪ Helti.
▪ Concrete cutting machine.
▪ Hand tools.
▪ Power tools.

4. EXECUTION METHODOLOGY
● Barrication and restrict entry in this area.Wear proper PPEs( gloves & safety Shoes Helmet
etc)before the start of activity.
▪ All equipment and tools required to perform the work shall comply with the standards specified in
specifications, and shall been site before the works commence and shall be inspected by Health &
Safety Officer.
▪ Person’s part of this job to carry out work should be fully informed and have a complete understanding
of the potential hazards that the work entails.
▪ Supervisor or leadership is essential to ensure that the devised safe system of work is implemented
correctly. Regular and thorough monitoring necessary to ensure that specific procedures are being
followed.
▪ First mark that area which should be cut and break through jackhammer or helti/cutter.
▪ Then cutting the concrete through cutter outer joint all sides to make segregation joint between
concrete.
▪ Excavator with jackhammer start breaks the concrete into pieces all the mark areas. After breaking
concrete into pieces excavator load the concrete pieces on tractor trolley move it to the designated area.
▪ The area which is near to bumper and Colum should be break with helti.
▪ The health & safety officer shall ensure that there is safe access to the working area. Housekeeping
permanently shall be ongoing.
