The document discusses the pros and cons of watching movies at home versus in the cinema. While watching at home allows choosing your own snacks and replaying scenes, it lacks the cinema experience of a big screen, crowd reactions, and seeing new movies. Although the author is used to watching at home, visiting the cinema makes films feel like an event and enhances genres through a shared viewing experience, creating fond memories from their childhood of weekly cinema trips.

To start off, when you watch a movie at home you miss out this “cinema”
experience. You don’t get a tremendous TV screen, over-priced popcorn, and
other famed snacks, you don’t hear voices of strangers who also react to it. Besides, you don’t get to see the movies while they are new. If you watch a movie at home, you get snacks you really want. What is more, you can set environment whatever you want: without strangers acting anxious or laughing at someone. And most importantly, when you want to watch a certain part of movie again, you can replay it. Moreover, if you want to skip a dull trailer you can do it as well. In other words, at home you can watch movie on your own terms. Honestly, I’m a movie buff. My whole cinematic education was spent in front of the laptop and TV. Anyway, every time I go to the cinema to watch a brand new movie, I feel exited. To be honest, cinema turns film into an event. Drama becomes more dramatic, comedy funnier and horror scarier. Overall, you can think I prefer watching movie at home. Actually, I enjoy watching movies in the cinema. Why so? Growing up visiting cinemas every week was always a special treat for me. Despite of many cons, cinemas are the best places to watch films.
