What Is Modular Architecture? Modular design
Modular buildings are sectional prefabricated buildings that  A modular system can be characterized

and then used in different systems.
 less customization, and shorter

design, modularity offers other benefits
such as augmentation (adding new
solution by merely plugging in a new
module), and exclusion.
Benefits of Modular
architecture
1) Shorter Construction Time
 60% less than conventional site-built construction…  the manufacturer has the responsibility
decreases design and construction time by up to 50%. from designing, ….installing, start-up,

• fewer onsite OSHA exposure hours and
3) Financial Savings (less project cost) smaller crew sizes
 reduced labor and material cost savings • Ideal construction conditions provided

 durable, secure and relocatable characteristics  Construction time is reduced
 On-site construction and congestion
5)Single-Source Responsibility is minimized.

What is Modular Construction?
 prefabricated components to greatly speedupthebuild process, lower construction costs and reduce
environmental impact.

 modular building construction is a very costeffectiveand timelyvenue for quality production.

 Modular construction is the only construction method available that allows for building construction and
site work to proceed simultaneously with a faster schedule and without sacrificing safety or quality.

 Unlike conventional construction, modular allows for the possibilityoffutureexpansionandrelocation.

Modernized technology and transportation now allows for the majority of the project to be
completedinanoff-siteconstructionfacility, thereby reducing risk and problematic scheduling concerns.
