PVC Conduit Mandrel Test (≥ 53 mm or 2 inch trade size conduit/duct) - After

the duct has been concrete encased check duct deflection by pulling a mandrel
through. Mandrels should be shaped such that the maximum mandrel OD
occurs over a very short distance (<25.4 mm or 1 inch). Ball-shaped mandrels SAES-P-104
D7 are commonly used, but many configurations are possible. The following chart Sec. 4.1

E. Mandrel Test (PRE-COMMISSIONING)

Verify that each new conduit is cleaned and tested (in both directions) with the
B1 appropriate size test mandrel. (Nominal Four inch inside diameter conduits SECTION 16018
must pass a 3-5/8 inch diameter x 12 inch length mandrel).
