- Basically, they are the part of the group A of civil services that are responsible of the country’s
law and order.
- They are the one who has the responsibility to look into the implementation of policies that
govern India’s domestic and state police administration.
- The primary job of an IPS officer is to ensure that their subordinates are properly managed.
- Sometimes They are the one who leads a certain region, and make crucial decision for that region
or district.
- Some of the jobs that an IPS officer do on a daily basis/routine are crime prevention, accident
prevention, accident management, paper works, crime detection, cash transportation security,
and authorization for loudspeakers, rallies, political/religious functions.

- Above all the top character strengths that are required in this job are:
a) Leadership, I think this is the basic character strength that this job requires as at every
point of this job as I have to either lead my subordinates or an entire region under me.
b) Bravery, As mentioned this job is related to crime that comes with certain risks so,
bravery is second major character that is demanded by this job.
c) Honesty, this is also one of the major characters that is required in this job as I am
serving my nation and I have great responsibilities of that particular region that I am
directing and leading.
 d) Judgement, this character plays a huge role in this job as I will be making crucial decision
not just for one or two people but for an entire region or district. So, I have to examine
the situation from all sides before making any final decision.
e) Fairness, for me if this character is not there in a human, then previous two character can
not be able to exist because being fair with your job and with your decision making is
very important in this job.
f) Social Intelligence, it is very important to have this character in this job as I will be
dealing and making for the people I will be governing.

 COMPARISION WITH MY TOP STRENGTHS

- There is only one character in these six characters that comes under my top ten characters
strength and that is Judgement, which comes at number nine. Three of these, Bravery, Social
intelligence, Honesty comes between 10 – 20, respectively at 12, 14 and 16. Fairness and
Leadership are my weakest characters come at 21 and 23 respectively. These are the two
character that I need to improve a lot in these five years as they are at the bottom in my
character strength list. After this I need to work on those four characters that come in the middle
part of my character strength and a little work on judgement is needed to improve it.

 ACTION PLAN
- First of all, I really need to work a lot on Leadership, as it my weakest as well as the most
important character needed in this job. Some methods that I think will be useful to improve it
are:
a) Try to lead my football team from the very next game that I will play.
b) By trying to lead my presentation group at every presentation.
c) I think soft skills are very important for any leader so improving them should be enough
to improve my leadership qualities.
d) By taking responsibility in class activity can also help me to enhance this character.

- By improving my leadership skills can also be very helpful in strengthening other characters like,
Bravery, Social intelligence, Judgement and fairness as they are like the subset of leadership.
Leadership skills always involves bravery as it wants one to take the responsibility of the given
task. It involves social intelligence as it wants you to have those soft skills to direct you group. It
comes with decision making so it involves both judgement and fairness. So, just by amplifying
our leadership skills we can improve all of them.
- For honesty I will try to honest in my daily works and words.
