1. PLAN THE EXAM CAMPAIGN
A. Scan the whole paper.
B. Read all instructions compulsory questions? type? number? marks?
C. Allocate time leave time for review.
D. Choose your battlesi.e. choose the questions you want to do.
E. Start with the compulsory question or the one you feel most confident about.
F. Answer all required questions.
2. ESSAYS
A.. ANSWER THE QUESTION
i. Read the question. Read it again. Read it out loud.

ii. Questions are the key.
iii. Give your opinion.
C. READY STEADY GO
i. Get right to the point include question words in your first sentence.
ii. Use your strongest arguments first
iii. One idea per paragraph.
iv. Write neatly.
v. Be concise.
vi. Leave space throughout to add thoughts later.
vii. Be aware of the time.
3. MULTIPLE CHOICE
A. Find out if points are lost for wrong answers.
B. Narrow down choices.
C. First thought is usually best.
D. Watch out for generalisations.
N.B. If you struggle with multichoice questionscover the answerswrite
your own answer to the question and then match it to choices given.

4. SHORT ANSWER
A. Need to be short 23 sentences including key words.
B. If you go blank, move on quickly.
5. REVIEW WHEN ALL QUESTIONS ARE ATTEMPTED
A. Did you do as instructed?
B. Did you answer the question?
C. Any other points?
D. Is it clear?
E. Use your extra space if necessary
N.B. Open Book Tests
A. Be familiar with text layout.
B. Have relevant sections marked.
C. Practise locating material/information.
D. You still have limited time so be as prepared as in a normal exam and use texts to reinforce your
argument rather than relying on them.
