1.Discuss what you’ve observed in the soil and water after the conduct of the activity.
- I put the Coca-Cola bottle in session crop production at the side of the bridge after shaking it with water and
soil. After a split second or minute, the water became so hazy that it was impossible to discern the soil layer beneath
it. After bringing it home, I took a picture of it to document the difference between the two. I could just make out the
organic water and the layer, but the water was close enough to be clear. I snapped a photo of it in my bed after going
to sleep, when the water was almost clear and the soil layer was gradually becoming clear. I could already tell a
difference after 24 hours, and the organic matter was clear, the soil layer was clear, and the water was clear.
2.What is soil?
- Soil is the loose surface material that covers most land. It consists of inorganic particles and organic matter.
Soil provides the structural support to plants used in agriculture and is also their source of water and nutrients. Soils
vary greatly in their chemical and physical properties and results indicated that the soil profile with vertical
heterogeneity in soil texture.
- Soil composition is a mix of soil ingredients that varies from place to place.
- I discovered how to use the infiltration method and saw the results after starting with a bottle of coke.
- In order to identify the soil layer and soil profile, our lab work on the infiltration method is crucial.
