A Mother Nature’s Love
Pause and look at your surroundings. Feel and breathe in the air. Don’t you think we are
blessed to be able to live in a world that provides for our needs? A world that gives us all the food
that we need, the water that we drink, and free air? Before starting module 2, ask yourselves if how
long it will take for all the things you see, taste, breath, and feel last. Will the next generation be
able to witness and experience such things?
This module will help the students open their eyes to the little things that are usually ignored.
It will help the students understand that resources are limited and there will be a time when even
air will no longer be free.

Content of this Introduction:

I. Overview of the Module
II. Prerequisite knowledge and assumptions encompassed by the Module
III. Learning Objectives and Outcomes
IV. Preassessment

I. Overview of the Module

In this module, the students will be able to identify the major landforms and bodies of
water, and how they are formed. They will also explore the different resources found in certain
places, especially the Philippines. Students will also be able to learn values that could help save
and protect our remaining resources.
The primary goal of this unit is to help students identify the different resources found on Earth and
that not all places have the same number of resources. This module will also instill in the hearts of
the students the value of protecting Mother Nature.
II. Prerequisite knowledge and assumptions encompassed by the Module

This module assumes that the students have already learned the knowledge and skills in using the
compass, the globe and the map in locating places. For this module, the students are required to
read chapter 13 of their book (Exploring Life Through Science 7).

earth provide us with clean air?
Today you will spend time reading your books on pages 308 to 320 and appreciate the
things we as humans fail to see and to give importance on. After reading your book answer Self-
learning Activity 1.2.1B to check on your understanding of the different resources.

9. This activity will allow students to reflect on how humans destroy the natural resources. As the
future of our nation the students should be able to give solutions to lessen the destruction of the
natural resources. Give 5 human activities, their corresponding effect on the environment and the
possible to lessen the harmful effect on the environment. An example is given below.

Write a short reflection of your learning based on the following guide questions. Post your answers
in the quiz assignment entitled LB1.2 found in the classwork section of your google classroom.

• Is there a connection between the location of our country and its natural resources
(abundant water, fertile soil, diverse plants and animals, precious metal deposits, and
geothermal power, to name a few)? What is the evidence?
• Most resources are finite. Which of our practices in using natural resources are sustainable?
Which are not sustainable?
• How can we help conserve natural resources so that future generations can also enjoy them?

Self-planning Activity 1.2 Due: September 9, 2021 File: SPA1.2
OUR ITINERARY
Your foreign friends want to spend a vacation in the Philippines. As an environmental advocate,

preserve and protect the beauty and cultural relevance of the places that they will visit.
For these reasons you will plan a week-long travel itinerary for your foreign friends. In the
itinerary, recommend the best places in the Philippines and include details and characteristics
about each destination to help them organize their activities and maximize their time. Your
itinerary format can be in a form of infographic or a colorful information guide. Attach your
itinerary in the file entitled SPA1.2.
