Formal ASB Meeting - October & November

Position Assessment: The Seniors have been busy little bees these past few months. We started

planning for Winterfest (more on that in the following paragraphs), which is quite a feat. We’ve

been working diligently on Tree Decorations as well, which has been fun too. With the other

Senior Officers, we did a second round of presales for merch. With the help of Morty, we also

made our Senior motto, which will go on pamphlets and such. I’ve been busy with the Volunteer

Project with my fellow Vice Presidents. I’ve been doing most of the paperwork, with David

doing quite a bit of it too. We had several meetings, with two different Love Ripon reps, in

deciding our project and how to execute it. I’m in charge of Ripon El, which is painting the

basketball and volleyball poles red.

Standing Committees: Currently, I am apart of Link Crew. We did not do anything during this

time, but we have Study Buddy night coming up soon, as well as decorating Mr. Ramereiz’s

office on Thursday

Dude Be Nice: I made my card for Ms. Van Vuren. It was so nice to be able to give it to her in

front of the school, because she was getting recognized for all of her hard work. Then, I helped

clean up the gym after the rally.

Winterfest: The Seniors are in charge of Winterfest, so we’ve been ensuring the success of the

week. To start, we’ve ensured that all of the classes have their themes within the realm of apps,

in case anyone wanted to change (i.e. the Seniors with Subway Surfers). Then, the Seniors

helped Kenz pick the sashes for Winterfest Royalty. They’re going to be white with colored
glitter based on their class color, and then the Queen and King is a red sash with black glitter.

The Seniors picked our names for the King and Queen and sent them to Morty, and all of the

classes have confirmed the names as well. I made a copy of the request letter sent by Kenz into

google classroom, and changed it to match the Seniors. Then, I sent it to Morty and she printed it

and we’ll get our cart before break. Any other class? I’m sure everyone will go in depth about

their dress up day, but Monday the 23rd is BeReal with Twin Day, the 24th is the Weather App,

so dress for different kinds of weather, the 25th is the Juniors and Candy Crush, so Cowboy or

Neon, and the 26th is Subway Surfers so Biker vs Surfer. And of course, class color is always an

option. We’re doing Letterman jackets the Friday before, along with the reveal of the court.

Then, the Friday during Winterfest will be anything but a backpack day. We also have the paper

done for the gym decorations; every class has finished cutting and taping and will be bringing it

home to decorate it. April and Emily confirmed that we can have the gym after basketball

practice on Monday the 23rd at 7:30 pm, so we can start at 8, but we were hoping to get it at 7 to

start it at 7:30. We have begun deciding our decorations and plans for making the cart and the

poster. Everything needs to be ordered before Dec 22nd, so that they will get delivered in time.

Tree Decorations: The Seniors decided their tree theme, and we decided to go the sentimental

route of Santa’s Seniors, with red, white, and silver accents. We put in a Facility form to request

the space in front of the Library, so that other Seniors can come decorate an ornament with their

name and whatever else they want. April and I painted the ornaments red and white, so that the

students can just come by and write their names in sharpie. I am making the poster to publicize it

in front of our table, in case there are students who didn’t see the insta posts or hear the

announcements. April has a tree that we’re going to use and then we’re using an old Grad cap as
the tree topper. We’re gonna put little signs into the tree with everyone’s favorite memories, like

rallies, football games, and dances.

Class Shirts: We got a google form sent out asking about the likelihood of people buying more

senior merch, and with enough interest we decided to hold a second round of preorders.

Unfortunately, we did not get enough sales to break even, but with the extras we did have, it

wasn’t too expensive. April had to email Kerri to get our designs back into the cart, because they

disappeared again. After she got that sorted out, she ordered the merch. It just came in today,

Wednesday the 15th, and April and Emily passed them out during their opt-outs. A couple of

people were absent, but they’ll continue to hand them out until everyone gets their merch.

Community Service: The community service project is happening this Friday, November 18th,

from 10 am to 12 pm. I’ve been handling the paperwork for the most part, with some help from

David when he has the time. I’m formally in charge of Ripon El, in which we’ll be painting the

poles with paint and brushes supplied by the school. We’ve had four meetings so far, in which

we discussed what our project is going to be, how we’re going to accomplish it, when it will take

place, and how we’re going to get volunteers. We decided to make the elementary schools a

more beautiful place by emailing the principals to see if they’re interested and see what jobs they

would need to be done.

Positive Comment: My positive comment goes to Spencer Redula. He’s always working really

hard, especially during the work days. He never complains about anything assigned to him, and

he’s such a diligent worker. Spencer never fails to do what is right, and that’s a quality you don’t

always see in people.

Change: One change I would like to see would be seeing people work during work days.
Concern: I’m concerned about the amount of work being done, when we have a lot of events to

plan and execute in the coming weeks.

My Impact: I’ve been diligently working on the paperwork for the VP project and helping the

Senior Officers where it’s needed.
