Ivy)

Lesson Class #: Grade 1/2 Course Math (Ordering numbers)

Title/Focus

PROGRAM OF STUDY OUTCOMES

- Students analyze quantity to 20
- Students analyze quantity to 100

LEARNINGLEARNING OBJECTIVESBJECTIVES

- Students will demonstrate how to compare and order natural numbers

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

- Whiteboard/smartboard
- Mini whiteboards for students (+ markers and erasers)

PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

● Have differentiation for students so everyone can participate in the activities (ordering numbers from 1-20
on half the board and ordering numbers 1-100 on the other half of the board)

PROCEDURE
Introduction Time

- I will start the class by having the students sitting on their dots at the front of the 1-2 min
classroom
- I will ask the class for their eyes and ears on me and once they are quite and paying
attention to me then I will start the PowerPoint

Body Time

Topic: **see PowerPoint notes 5-10 min

Topic - For our next activity I will ask students to grab mini 10-12 min
white boards, markers, and erasers from the horseshoe
table
- I will tap the heads of students who are sitting
quietly to let them go grab their materials and
come back to their dots
- Once all the students have their materials we will be
going through different examples of ordering numbers
(which I will write on the board)
- One side of the board will be ordering numbers
from 1-20 and the other side will be ordering
numbers from 1-100. I will allow students to
choose whichever side they feel is better for them
to work on
- Once they have ordere4d the numbers I will go
over the correct answers on the board and have
the students self assess if they got it right or
wrong. Then I will get the students to erase their
answers and we will move onto the next example

Conclusion Time

- I will ask students to put their materials away by calling students dot colors to go put 1-2 min
it away

Assessment
- There will be no summative assessments but for formative assessments I will be at the front of the class,
able to see all the students white boards (so I will know where they are at in their ordering abilities)
- If I see that a lot of students are struggling then I will make the questions easier and vice versa if
they are getting all the answers correct

Reflection:
● What worked well and what didn't?
● What class management strategies worked well that kept the student’s listening and on task?
● Did any students really struggle with the activities done in class? If so, did I adapt the lesson to
help them learn in their own way?
