8. Ritu ate (3/5) part of an apple and the remaining apple was eaten by her brother Somu. How
much part of the apple did Somu eat? Who had the larger share? By how much?
9. Michael finished colouring a picture in (7/12) hour. Vaibhav finished colouring the same
picture in (3/4) hour. Who worked longer? By what fraction was it longer?
10. Multiply and reduce to lowest form and convert into a mixed fraction:
(i) 7 × (3/5)
11. What number should be added to the sum of 345 and 67 to make it equal to the smallest
3-digit number?

17. The following bar graph shows the number of books sold by a publisher during the five
consecutive years. Read the bar graph and answer the following questions:
(i) About how many books were sold in 2008, 2009 and 2012 years?
(ii) In which years were 575 books were sold?
(iii) In which years were the minimum number of books sold?

or second) made the better guess?
