Discussion:

The experiment of Liquid Level Flow Cascade Process Control was conducted to study the objectives
available which are to identify the important components of the level and flow control system, to study PID
level control and PID tuning, and to study Level-Flow Cascade control. The experiment was started with
the start-up procedures where it needs to be conducted for PID trial value and the set point variable (SV)
in always in Manual (M) mode. The red line represented the level of water while the green line
represented the flow of water. The variables involved in this experiment are volumetric flow rate (m3 /hr.)
and level (mm).

Based on Figure above, it shown that the level and flow of water started to increase. The red pen which
indicates the level of water increased until it reached its maximum point. The level should be at its set
point, which is 400 mm, but it did not decrease to its set point. This might be due to human error in setting
the value of MV. After setting the MV value to 50%, the level of water directly increases. From the
observation, when the flow of water increased, the level of water also increased and when the level of
water is decreasing, the flow dropped to zero value. Thus, can be said that the flow of water controlled the
level of water inside the tank.
