forms make our country very unique. The student will become aware of the rich and
varied artistic traditions of our country through the Art Integrated Project.

Project Theme: A Historical Monument of the State

Activity 1: EVS
Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to
1. select a famous historical monument of the state
2. identify its geographic location on the state map
3. tell when it was constructed and by whom
4. explain the significance of the monument in history

Materials required:
1. scrapbook
2. picture of the monument
3. outline map of the state
4. stationery

Procedure:
1. Choose a famous historical monument of the state.
2. Stick a picture of the monument in your scrapbook.
3. Plot its location on an outline map of the state and stick the map in your
scrapbook.
4. Find out about
● its location
● when it was constructed
● who constructed it
● its significance in history

Activity 2: English
Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to
1. infer the information collected about the monument in EVS
2. use the information to draw a rough sketch e.g., mind map
3. design a page of tourist brochure and include the main points about the
monument

Materials required:
1. scrapbook made in Activity 1
2. additional pictures of the monument e.g., interior, exterior, etc.
3. stationery

Procedure:
1. Refer to the information collected about the monument in EVS (Activity 1)
2. Create a simple mind map on the above information in your scrap book.
3. Choose the main points which would attract visitors to the monument and design
a tourist brochure on the monument in your scrap book. Place the relevant
pictures appropriately. Use your imagination to decorate the brochure by hand.

Activity 3: Mathematics
Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to…
1. identify their village/town/city in the state you live
2. draw a line to connect the state capital to the chosen monument
3. find the modes of transport available from your place to the monument
4. find the distance between these two places in kilometers
5. find the travel time from your place to the monument by road
6. find the cost of entering the monument
Materials required:
1. outline map of the state (same as EVS)
2. scrap book
3. stationery

Procedure:
1. Plot the location of the capital on the outline map of the state.
2. Draw a line connecting the state capital to the monument you have already
marked.
3. Find the distance between these two places in kilometres.
4. Find the travel time from the capital to the monument by road.
5. Note down your findings in your scrap book.

Activity 4: Computer Studies
Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to
1. draw and colour the picture of a monument from your state using MS Paint/Tux
Paint
2. name the monument and where it is located as a caption in the image

Materials required:
1. MS Paint/ Tux Paint
2. Internet

Procedure:
1. Draw and colour the monument you have selected for this project using various
tools of MS Paint/Tux Paint.
2. Students can surf the internet to view the actual monument before drawing it.
3. Name the monument and mention where it is located as a caption in the image.
4. Save your document with a meaningful name.
