E. Speaker’s name and brief profile: Dr. Aditi Jain (alumnus: 2008-2019), a DBT-
Research Associate II at Perundurai Lab, Center for Cardiovascular Biology and
Disease, Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (InStem),
Bangalore Life Science Cluster,GKVK - Campus, Bellary Road, Bangalore- 560065.

Her area of expertise is understanding cardiac stress and molecular mechanisms in


cardiovascular diseases, and drug induced cardiotoxicity using various experimental
models (cell culture, iPSCs, mouse, rats).

Her publications include -

F. Objective/Abstract of the talk:


Department of Biotechnology, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology conducted
the second session of Meet Our Alumni Series. The purpose of this series is to
provide a platform to us students to interact with our alumni who would share their
experiences, knowledge and achievements with a sense of connecting back to the
institution they belong to. Dr. Aditi Jain, alumnus, 2008-2019, graced the second
session.

The objectives of the event were:


 To guide students pursuing biotechnology and brief them about the recent and
much awaited boom in the field of Biotechnology.
 To provide information to the students about the fellowship programs both at
the national and international level.
 To explain different career prospects of biotechnology in India.

Dr. Aditi also presented her research work in brief on Mammalian Cell Culture,
Drosophila Melanogaster, Rodents and iPSC’s. The session was extremely
informative for the students. The session was followed by a questionnaire where all
the doubts and queries were addressed. As an audience, 55 students got benefited
from the talk other than the 14 faculty members.
