CASE ANALYSIS

GUIDE QUESTIONS:

1. Based on the case, what are the problems in Barangay Bayalse?

Based on the case, I’ve noticed that Barangay Bayalse is a place that is a victim of
Climate change. These climate change brought unpredictable weather like heavy rainfall
and excessive heat, and this unpredictable weather causes flood, landslide, drought and
obstruction of livelihood like fishing and farming. This also brought psychological effect
like anxiety, fear, and trauma cause of bad weather and don’t what to do in their lives
because of their situation.
2. What actions can you propose in response to the issues you have enumerated?
The local community should engage their residence in proper disaster readiness and
training to prepare them physically and mentally for them to know on how/what to do
in case or there is a sudden bad weather. This could help them to reduce risk of danger
and reduce casualties. They could also check their Barangay if there is a blockage in their
canals and checked if there is an area that people should not be in.
3. If you are living in this community, what can you do as a student to solve the concerns
and issues of Barangay Bayalse?
I will ask the Barangay Officials to conduct a forum or seminar about preparedness,
readiness and responds if there is a sudden calamity. Must have an safe place like
Evacuation Area. Must do Tree Planting, Clean ups and a Proper Waste
Disposal/Segregation.
