5.0 GENERAL NOTES

Rates shall include for supply, installation and

commissioning of the following items
according to drawings, specifications and
BOQ complete to working order with all
connections to the approval of the Engineer,
Fire Department and other relevant
authorities.

It is the contractor's responsibility to obtain

approval from relevant fire authorities
whenever necessary, before and after
installation of items in this trade.

All rates for any imported items shall be on

duty paid basis

All equipment shall be guaranteed for a period

of 12 months from the date of commissioning.

The tenderer shall provide all dimension,

technical information of all necessary builders
work to the Engineer in advance in relation
with the programme of work.

All fire protection pipe & fittings shall be

galvanized steel pipe, BS 1387, as per
specification

Rates for all pipes shall include for all pipe

supports, hangers, saddles, brackets, screws,
nails, tees, bends, sockets, reducers and the
like and fixing material, cutting holes and
chases in concrete/brick/block work, etc., any
builders work required such as excavation
back filling and compaction including sand
fill, concrete slabs and making good in all
trades unless otherwise measured separately.

2.0 Fire Detection and Alarm System

2.1 Supply and installation of addressable type, wall Nr. 1

completion and good working order

2.2 Detectors

2.3 Interface/Control Modules

2.3.1 Supply and installation of Interface(or control) Nr. 1

module to control fire fighting lifts to travel to
ground when the fire alarm is activated, including
wiring up to machine. Rate shall include all the
materials required.

2.3.2 Supply and installation of Interface (or control) Nr. 1

module to shut down all the Air handling units
when the fire alarm is activated including wiring up
to the chillers room at roof level. Rate shall include
all the materials required.

2.3.3 Supply and installation of Interface (or control) Nr. 1

module for monitoring fire hydrant system flow
switch and activation of the fire alarm condition.
However means shall be provided for by passing
the fire alarm condition for routine testing of the
fire pumps. Rate shall include all the materials
required and wiring up to the flow switch in the
pump room.

2.4 Wiring

Note.
Supply and installation of circuit wiring from the
Fire Alarm Control Panel to the system peripheral
equipment complete with all cables conduits and all
other materials required for a good installation and
proper functioning of the fire alarm system as
described in the specification. Cables shall be
installed in concrete slab/wall encased in PVC
conduits. Already provided floor to floor vertical
sections shall be installed in the electrical shaft.

2.4.1 Circuit wiring for soffit mounted detectors (in non Item 1 lot

panels. Cables dropping from the concrete ceiling
shall be drawn in flexible steel conduits not more
1m in length.
