e. Other Locational Data:
The site is located within the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin, CA. Within the NTC, the site is about 4 km south of
Nelson Lake and 3 km south of the Nelson Lake MSR on a moderately well-formed desert pavement surface.

* P3a. Description:
The site consists of a sparse scatter of lithic debitage centered around two lithic reduction locis. The artifacts are composed of
chert of two different colors. Three chert bifacial cores were discovered during site recording. Overall, the site is in good
condition but there is traffic impacts from military vehicles. The site is located on a moderately well-formed desert pavement
surface truncated by rills and drainages.

* A4. Features:
Two lithic reduction loci are associated with this site.

Feature 29122, consists of a 170 by 120 cm lithic reduction locus composed of 67 chert core reduction flakes and angular
debris. There are two color types of chert present: solid tan color and mottled red and opaque white. Three bifacial cores (PD
29123, PD 29124, PD 29125) were discovered within the feature.

Feature 50033 is a 400 by 200 cm lithic reduction locus composed of approximately 26 chert flakes.
* A5. Cultural Constituents:
A sparse scatter of ithic debitage was observed throughout the site.
* A6. Were Specimens Collected? No Yes
* A7. Site Condition Good Fair Poor
Disturbances consist of military activities and travel resulting in vehicle furrows and trails.
* A8. Nearest Water: Nelson Lake (intermittant)
* A9. Elevation: 1027
A10. Environmental Setting:
The site is located on a flat moderately well-formed desert pavement low terrace between two rises on a larger alluvial fan that
flows north towards Lake Nelson. The aspect is north and the slope is negligible. The desert pavement is populated mostly by
creosote and bursage, and the occasional rabbitbrush or cholla.
