e. Other Locational Data:
Site is located within the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin, CA. Within the NTC, the site is about 4.5 km south of
Nelson Lake and 3.5km south of the Nelson Lake MSR on a poorly formed desert pavement surface.

* P3a. Description:
Site consists of a sparse scatter of lithic debitage centered around two lithic reduction loci. Artifacts are composed of chert. One
modified flake tool was discovered during site recording. Overall, the site is in fair condition due to heavy traffic impacts from
military vehicles. The site is located on a poorly formed desert pavement surface truncated by rills.

* A4. Features:
The only feature associated with this site, Feature 28267, consists of a 110 by 90 cm lithic reduction locus composed of 32 chert
core reduction flakes and angular debris. No tools were discovered within the feature.
* A5. Cultural Constituents:
The site has a sparse scatter of chert lithic debitage throughout the site, mostly centered around the feature and one chert
modified flake tool, possible scrapper, (PD 28268) was discovered about 10 m north of the feature.
* A6. Were Specimens Collected? No Yes
* A7. Site Condition Good Fair Poor
Disturbances consist of military activities and travel resulting in vehicle furrows and trails
* A8. Nearest Water: Nelson Lake (intermittant)
* A9. Elevation: 1055
A10. Environmental Setting:
The site is located on a flat poorly formed desert pavement alluvial fan that flows north towards Lake Nelson. The aspects is
north and the slope is negligible. The desert pavement is populated mostly by creosote and bursage, and the occasional
rabbitbrush or cholla.
