independent individuals
Answer 3.
If the egg is not fertilised, the thick and nourishing lining of the uterus breaks and comes out
through vagina as blood and mucus.
Answer 4. It is because the chances of survival depend on the nature of variations and
different individuals have different kinds of advantages.
For example, a bacteria that can withstand heat will survive better in a heat wave, i.e. the
organisms that are fit in the competitive environment and with great variations will be able to
survive and adapt. Thus, more off springs and population with genetic variations will survive.
Answer 5.
Organism: Garden or Edible Pea (Pisum sativum).
As in diagram I, R=V/I to get R1 greater than R 2, V should be more than I clearly shown in
diagram I

3.resitance depends upon length, area of cross section, temperature and nature of substance
Resistivity – 1. Resistivity is equal to resistance of material of unit area (1m 2) and unit length
(1m)
2.Resistivity is constant.
ANS 8.a. Tungsten is used in bulb due to high M.P, high resistivity, and ability to glow in dark.

material. 1

1. It consists of a single bond between carbon atoms. Double or triple bond between carbon atoms is
present.
Unsaturated Hydrocarbon –
ANS 13. Covalent compounds are held together by weak intermolecular forces. It is because of such
weaker forces, which fails to make the compound bind tightly. ... Since lower heat (energy) is
capable of breaking these weak intermolecular forces, therefore the melting and boiling points of
covalent compounds is low
ANS 14. The two most common allotropes of carbon are diamond and graphite.
