Pattern is designed to have 2" Positive ease built in. If you fall
between sizes, size up.
Yarn:
150, (170), 200, (250), 300, (350), 400, (475), 535 Yarn & Colours in White. A Category 4 Medium Worsted
weight (Aran) yarn. Ensure your yarn has a cotton content to avoid stretching.
Hook:
4.5mm (US7) Hook
Notions
4x12mm buttons | Needle & matching thread | Scissors | Darning needle
Gauge (Tension):
14 sts over 8 rows of double crochet = 4X4" (10X10 cm)
Notes:
Pattern is worked flat back and forth in repeating rows and seamed together to finish.
Chain 2 at the beginning of each round DOES NOT count as a stitch
Pattern is designed to be loose fitting and have 2" positive ease built in, if you fall between sizes, go up
a size.
Button fastening is for decorative purposes only.

Stitch Execution;
Dc3tog = Double crochet 3 stitches together - Yarn over and insert your hook into the designated stitch,
yarn over and pull through 2 loops, Yarn over and insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull
through 2 loops, Yarn over and insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn
over and pull through all 4 loops on the hook. *DC2tog is executed in the same way inserting into 2 stitches
instead of 3*
Row 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end, turn. {113, (121), 137, (153), 169, (185), 201, (217), 227}
Row 2: ch2, 1 dc in each st to end, turn. {113, (121), 137, (153), 169, (185), 201, (217), 227}
Repeat Row 2 another 12, (12), 13, (14), 15, (15), 16, (17), 17 times. Makers Tip; Work more or less rows here for a

With top right shaping to the right, Sk the next 56, (60), 68, (76), 84, (92), 100, (108), 112 sts;

dc3tog, turn
Repeat Row 1 until you have 4, (6), 6, (6), 6, (6), 6, (6), 4 sts left.
XS & 5XL sizes only

You will now have a piece that looks like this (Fig 2.)
Straps
You should have ended up at the peak of the left side of the top. Ch 55, (55), 60, (60), 65, (65), 65, (70), (75)
You may need to adjust the number of ch's so the strap fits you perfectly. Keep trying the top on to get the
straps as long as you would like them.
Fold the top as in Fig 4. and sl st the strap directly to the back of the top without twisting the ch. Sl st back
down the ch - Fasten off and weave in the ends. Reattach the yarn in the right peak and repeat the same for
the right strap.

You will now add the scalloped hem.
With RS up, rejoin your yarn in the right hand corner Fig 5. and repeat
the following instructions for all sizes;
Ch1, sc in the base of ch1, sl st into the next sp (this will be in your
button band)
*3 sc in the next st, sl st in the next; rep from * to end. Fasten off and
weave in any loose ends.

Add a few more stitches to make sure the front stays closed.
