Warm greetings from the DOST- Philippine Textile Research Institute!

In line with the implementation of the DOST-PTRI projects under the Inclusive Innovation (i2)
TELA  Program  entitled  “Establishment  of  Regional  Yarn  Production  and 
Innovation Center- Northern Luzon” and “Integrated Community-Scale Textile Fiber
Innovation Hubs in Northern Luzon”, we are pleased to inform you that we will conduct a
Passing of the Torch from RYPIC Iloilo to RYPIC Northern Luzon on May 24, 2022 at the
Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Miag-ao Campus. This is in conjunction
with the turnover ceremony of the RYPIC Iloilo from DOST-PTRI to ISAT U.

In addition, as part of DOST-PTRI’s commitment to enhance human resource capability, we

will also conduct a Technology Mission on May 25-26, 2022 which aims to provide
stakeholders a benchmarking opportunity on textile production, operations, maintenance and
sustainability, through the pioneer RYPIC in Iloilo. This will also be an opportune time to
establish linkages that will set stage and spur research, development and innovations.
