LANGUAGE ARTS REMINDERS

This month, we will be reading Helen
Keller, Officer Buckle and Gloria, Mr. January 13:
Tanen’s Tie Trouble, and Luke Goes to Collaboration Day

students will review addition and
subtraction problems in the context of
money and number stories. They will
learn how to use an open number line
as a tool for solving number stories.
They will also learn strategies for
mentally adding and subtracting 10
and 100.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
In Science, we will begin our study of landforms, earth’s fast changes, and
earth’s slow changes. Also, we will recognize individuals that have
demonstrated strength and courage to make a difference in the world. We will
learn more about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream to see us work
together in peace.
