What aspects of technological

development do you find most

exciting?

For me, the medical aspect of technological development is the most exciting
one. In 2017, for example, the FDA authorized an at-home DNA test, which helps
us detect genetic risk of different diseases. I find it really interesting that people
are able to know if they have a genetic condition, and pregnant women are able
to know if their baby has an increased risk of having a genetic condition.

In addition, there has been major technological developments as regards

communications. In 1849, the telephone was invented and within 50 years it
was an essential item for homes and offices. Then, came the mobile phone,
which transformed communication forever. It is amazing how, after the
invention of mobile phones, people were (and still are) able to communicate
with friends and family members who live in another cities or countries.

Lastly, I have to consider that modern farms work differently than those a few
decades ago, mainly because of advancements in technology, because today’s
agriculture uses sophisticated technologies such as robots and GPS
technology.
The most exciting aspect of this is that agricultural technology also gives
producers greater control over plant and animal production, processing, and
storage, which results in:
Greater efficiencies and lower prices
Safer growing conditions and safer foods
Reduced environmental and ecological impact
