A Day in Singapore

Now with that put aside, let’s start with the first thing I would spend the money on, and that
is food. "Why food?" you may ask. Well, I wouldn’t want to go on my day with a full pack of
activities on an empty stomach. Not to mention, as a foodie, it is essential to try out the
different flavours of food from different countries. However, despite the fact that I’m tempted
to try out all the different meals and dishes Singapore has to offer, I wouldn’t be able to do
so. Therefore, I would say the first dish that I would try is Hainanese Chicken Rice. The
average price for a plate of Hainanese chicken rice is about 5 SGD. It is described as fragrant,
delicious, appetizing, and just the thought of it makes my mouth water. Though I have had
chicken rice before, I would definitely want to try it out and contrast its differences with the
ones in Singapore. You’ll never know if there is a twist to its taste.
With my appetite and palate pleased, the next thing I would do is go on an exploration around
the country, and by that, I mean take a trip on a cable car ride. The total cost for a cable car
ride is approximately SGD 30. Cable car rides would be an ideal choice as I would be able to
have a wide view of what the landscape of Singapore looks like. I would certainly take a ton
of pictures to treasure the memorable moments and beautiful view of Singapore. After a
thrilling cable car ride, the next thing I would without a doubt do is visit Universal Studios
Singapore. The price of a ticket is roughly 70 to 80 SGD. As someone who gets bored easily
and requires plenty of stimulation, this would be the perfect spot for me as it is a theme park
filled with entertainment and thrilling roller coaster rides. It’ll be a very nostalgic experience
too, as the theme park features characters from the Universal Studios that I used to adore
when I was a child.
After using up my energy, I would definitely go to the National Museum of Singapore next. It
features galleries showcasing Singapore's diverse culture, traditions, and stories. It’ll be a
great way for me to discover Singapore’s fascinating history, and it only costs about SGD 15.
With all the activities done, I should be left with a few hours until the day comes to an end. I
would take this opportunity to go shopping for lots of things to spend my leftover money on.
I would most likely buy items that are usually out of my budget now that I have the
opportunity to spend money freely and purchase a bunch of snacks and souvenirs to take
home and share with my family and friends.
I would certainly have one last meal in Singapore to end the day. I would stop by for a bowl
of spicy noodles known as "Laksa" accompanied by a bowl of shaved ice and syrup known as
"Chendol" as dessert to balance out the scorching weather. As for the leftover money, I
would donate it to those in need. It would make me happier to end the day by doing a good
deed. I hope this gives you an idea of how I would spend SGD 1000 in a single day.
