DEFINE PHILOSOPHY

 It is all about using reason and logic to understand and answer deep question about
nature of truth and reality, knowledge and meaning of life.
 It is a study that uses human reasons to investigate the ultimate causes, reasons and
principle which governs all things
 It is integrated view of the world. It includes of the nature of existence and its role in
the world.
 It’s a way approaching the world by formulating questions when people wants to
have insights and understand the basic reasonings and truth about themselves, the
people and things in their circle and the society as a whole.
 Philosophy is the love of knowledge.
 Philosophy is the study of fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence, a
guiding principle of behavior, faith, ideology, ethic, conviction, belief and viewpoints.
 Philosophy refers to the fundamental truth about who they are in which the world
they live in.
 Philosophy is referential to our shared understanding. It generally refers to opinions,
principles, viewpoints or beliefs that are held either by individuals or groups.

understand the hows and whys of the nature of our existence, ethics, thoughts, time,
meaning and value.

BRANCHES OF PHILOSOPHY

 Metaphysics - is about the reality, the existence, the universe, the physical world and
other concepts that define reality and understand.
 Ethics- It explores the nature of moral virtue and evaluates human actions.
 Epistemology- the study of knowledge.
 Aesthetics- the study of what is beauty, enjoyable and tasteful
 Logic- Is a branch of philosophy that deals with nature of thinking and reasoning.
 Axiology- a branch of philosophy that concerned with developing a theory of value.
 Social/Political Philosophy- the study of value judgments operative in civil society.
