Introduction to the company

OGDCL (Oil and Gas Development Company Limited) is and oil and gas company. It is listed on
the Pakistan Stock Exchange, and also listed on the London Stock Exchange. It was established
in 1961 by the Government of Pakistan, it was turned into a public listed company on 23
October 1997. Today it is involved in exploring, drilling, refining and selling oil and gas in
Pakistan. It is based on Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area in Islamabad, with the Government of
Pakistan holding 74% stake in the company. Rest are held by private investors. In 2013, it has
revenue of Rs. 223.365 billion and profit before tax soaring at Rs. 90.777 billion.

Health and Safety act in OGDCL

All the staff of OGDCL are provided with the OGDCL Safety Handbook. The handbook have all
the precautionary guidelines and the managers are strictly enforced to ensure the safety of the
employees.
1. Cleanliness in organization:
 Workers are hired in every department to clean it on daily basis. If an incident is
occurred, the workers immediately cleans the mess.
 Small plant pots are also placed in every department for clean oxygen.
 The bathrooms are cleaned several times a day.
 Cafeteria is strictly monitored and it is made sure that clean, fresh and hygienic
food is provided to the workers.
 Inspections are conducted regularly to maintain a clean environment.
 The employees are also told to wear clean clothes and maintain a good hygiene.
 If an employee gets sick, the manager makes sure to provide comfort to him/her.
If they need a sick leave the manager will provide it accordingly.
