GENERAL
DEFINITION
OF AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human
intelligence in machines that are programmed to think
like humans and mimic their actions.
With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in every aspect, a
large number of countries, which is most of the developed countries
like China, United Kingdom, have rapidly accessed it and gradually
applied it in all kinds of areas, especially in business.

Take a look at the USA’s AI Application, this country mostly focuses

on the apps for customers, for suppliers or on the AI tools that help
the whole process of sales, operation, etc… become more effective
and efficient.

Japan's AI Sector has mainly focused on robotics as sub-domains of

AI. According to Nomura Research Institute, by the year of 2035, half
of all jobs in Japan could be performed by AI robots. However,
overseas companies have concentrated more on software
development in the business model.

We have done research on AI's business applications in 2 OECD

countries which are the US and Japan.

products, implement immediate quotes,

information.
Businesses in both countries are integrating chatbots into their customer service in order to provide
faster and cheaper assistance to their clients who are becoming increasingly comfortable with
technology. Chatbots are able to automatically respond to questions asked by customers.

In recruitment, AI is used to simplify the search for candidates, sift through and manage
applications, and identify profiles that meet the selection criteria for a given position.

Also, AI is applied to facilitate self-service by personalized product recommendations. It helps

personalize content for each specific customer based on their purchase history, customer service
tickets, and browsing patterns. By using this customer data, AI applications are able to provide
customers with the content that would be most appealing to them, including factual information,
images, videos, instructional material, or community discussion forums. ( cái nì là phần nào dọ)

Moreover, in E-commerce, both countries pay the most attention to personalization. It means that
based on the customer satisfaction, basic needs, AI is intentionally used to recommend the suitable
products and service by using item-to-item collaborative filtering, pre-purchase surveys.

Finally, the US and Japan use AI in marketing to make automated decisions based on data
collection, data analysis, and additional observations of audience or economic trends that may impact
marketing efforts
POTENTIALS OF AI IN VIETNAM
In a survey by NVIDIA on the topic “The Role of AI in Financial Services” of over 200
global financial services professionals for public leaders, regulators, developers, and
architects Information technology (IT) from Fintech companies, investment
companies, retail banks… all point to the strong potential of AI, especially in the
banking and financial services sectors. Specifically, 34% of those surveyed expect AI to
drive revenue growth of 20% or more.
Vietnam holds huge potential in the application and development of new
technologies amid the wide utilization of robot in daily life activities. In the future,
robot can facilitate remote travel as tourists may stay in Vietnam and shop in Paris,
visit a museum in New York and join a meeting in Tokyo, expressing hope that
‘Made-in-Vietnam’ robot may earn international recognition in terms of technology.
Databases are also another important factor in developing AI. Currently we can use
some open databases and big data available around the world.

CHANGE IN THE FUTURE
Looking ahead to 2030, participation rates are expected to
continue their long-run decline.
In fact, at the global level, participation rates are anticipated to
fall by 1.6 percentage points between 2015 and 2030 (with
declines in excess of 2 percentage points expected in most
regions).
An important exception in this regard is Africa, where the
participation rate is expected to rise by 1.4 percentages.
1. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
+ Develop skills before entering the workforce:
Digital skills: be familiar with the digital world through learning to use
different programmes, devices, softwares
Advanced cognitive skills: critical thinking and problem-solving)
Executive function-related skills: self-regulation and metacognition
Socio-emotional skills: self-esteem, adaptability (keep up with trend,
the pace of society about the current situations of the world),
creativity, perseverance, empathy
+ Set goals, set time, set awareness and keep the vibration tuned to a
positive frequency in order to attract positive energy back to themselves
to be more consistent in the targets.
+ Consciously and deliberately in choosing a company or an industry to
have an internship for the improvement of skills and practical experience.

interests are piqued by the promise of
great growth.

FPT Software possesses one of the largest IT

workforces in South East Asia - by 2022, the
tech company has grown to 25,000
employees across 5 regions.

OPPORTUNITIES OF AI 02
Workforce: Most of the tech workforce are
still working in outsourcing. The talent pool is
young and specialized. Also, most of people lack
of the professional knowledge.

According to Pham Van Viet, general director of VitaJean, the number of

workers may be cut to 450 from the current 1,800. The company will
complete installing automatic production lines by next year, enabling it to
reduce the prices of products by 20 per cent and recover the investment
within five years.
THREATS OF AI 02

and High-technology Crime Prevention under the
Ministry of Public Security => threaten national
security and social order.

THREATS OF AI 02
3. DEMERITS OF THE FAST CHANGING WORLD
ACCUMULATED WITH THE BROADEN USES OF AI

Privacy risks
Many tech products that people use daily from phones to
smart home appliances have features that make them
vulnerable to AI data exploitation. Many people aren’t even
aware of the amount of data their devices generate and
share, consequently making them more prone to exploitation.

One other issue is that AI technology can be used to identify,

track and monitor people in real-time. Meaning that not only
will people not be able to use their devices in privacy, but
their movements can be tracked every step of the way.
3. DEMERITS OF THE FAST CHANGING WORLD
ACCUMULATED WITH THE BROADEN USES OF AI

Unemployment

Since AI can take over dangerous, mundane tasks and work

for several hours without feeling tired as human, more and
more countries are applying AI into work. Technology
would increase productivity, but at the same time it will be
labor saving, meaning that it would reduce the labor
requirements and hence employment.
3. SOLUTIONS TO REDUCE THE IMPACTS OF
OVERPERFORMANCE OF AI
+ Human Resource Development (HRD)
The human factor is always the key issue, so it is necessary to
have a strategy for human development, training professional
and high-quality human resources. Besides, each individual
should strengthen their adaptability to be able to catch up with
AI - which is created by humans.
+ Adopt policies on the overperformance of AI
AI developers will be held legally liable for having neglectful
actions which are harmful for society.
