Name: Inoferio, Kyla R.

Subject: Purposive Communication

Teacher: Ms. Futalan

Task 2.1.4

Instructions: Identify the type of text-based communication mode that best suits the following situations.
EXPLAIN WHY. Write your answer below each item.

1. Disseminating information about the change in examination schedule

- Social contact is the most effective text-based mechanism for spreading this knowledge. Because students
like to keep up with news via social media, particularly via messenger. The information about the exam change
would be simply shared by using group chat, which is also open to all students.

2. Providing information about the latest school policy on conducting interviews of university officials

- A letter and a school bulletin are the ideal text-based communication modes for communicating this
information. The interviewer must first obtain a written authorization letter before conducting any interviews. A
school bulletin could also be used to inform students about a change in school policy.

3. Explaining why the student failed in the test

- Text-based communication makes it difficult to explain why a student failed a test, as this is often done in
face-to-face discussion. For me, the ideal text-based communication medium to resolve this issue is via text
message or email because it will be more convenient for me to communicate with the student on a timely basis,
and this information is best shared confidentially.

4. Expressing apology for a grave shortcoming

- To explain this scenario, a letter of apology would be a suitable text-based means of communication. It's
formal, and it's where you'll write down your intentions. A letter, rather than broadcasting it on social media,
may reflect a more honest apology to me for such a thing as grave shortcoming.

5. Inviting someone to attend your lecture forum

- I'm going to invite someone to my lecture forum via social media engagement. Posting it on the internet,
notably on Facebook, would allow me to reach out to more people who might be interested in attending my
lecture forum.

6. Explaining why you failed to attend the class activity

- In order to explain why I was unable to attend the class activity, I will write a letter. Because I can honestly
state my reason in a professional text and include an attachment, such as a medical certificate, when I use an
excuse letter.

7. Inviting classmates to join the community service program for the Aetas in Tarlac.

- A letter is the most effective text-based means of communication for inviting my peers to participate in the
community service program. Because sending them a letter would be a formal invitation. It could also be used
as a letter of consent.

8. Informing schoolmates about the cancellation of classes due to a typhoon

- The greatest text-based communication option for informing my classmates of the class cancellation is
through social media activity, notably through Messenger. It would be easier to transmit messages to a wide
range of audiences now that everyone is linked to the internet.

9. Announcing the award granted by an international organization to a teacher

- The most effective text-based communication strategy for announcing an international organization's prize is
through social media involvement, notably on Facebook. Because it has the ability to reach a large range of
people. The scope of information may be broad

10. Reprimanding a male student for keeping a pornographic magazine

- Email is the most effective text-based communication method for confronting a male student. The problem
can be addressed more correctly and formally because it can be sent on a timely basis.
