This study focused on the effects of playing video games to the academic performance of
the students in Sta. Ana National High School , school year 2022 – 2023 . Within this study ,
the independent variable is limited to the personal profile of the respondents in term of age ,
gender ,attendance , Time spend on studying , academic performance , games they played ,
student’s participation and student’s time management. While the dependent variable is
limited to the effects of video games in the Academic Performance of the students.
Definition of Terms
To have a better understanding of the study , the following terms are operationally defined :
Age . This refers to the respondent’s age considering their last birthday.
Gender . This term in the study refers to either male or female student.
Attendance . This refers to the respondent’s evident during their classes after playing video
games
Time spend on Studying . This refers to the respondent’s time spend on studying.
Games they played . This term in the study refers to the kinds of games the respondent’s
Student’s Participation . This refers to the respondent’s participation during class hour.
Student’s Time Management . This refers to the respondent’s organize their time after and
