Ask the learners, how many letters does the Filipino alphabet
have?
The letters of the alphabet are arranged with letter A being the
first letter, B as the second, C as the third, D as the fourth, E as
the fifth, F as the 6th, G as the 7th, H as the 8th, I as the 9th, J as
the 10th, K as the eleventh, L as the 12th, M as the 13th, N as the

and Z as the 28th. - The 21st letter is letter S ma’am.
Ask: What does the arrangement of the letters of the alphabet
indicate? - We are able to know the ordinal

thirteenth (11th, 12th, 13th), all other numbers take the letters th.

Ask all the students to read all letters and let them take note of (Writes Filipino alphabet four times

Thirty-fifth 35th
Forty-third 43rd
Sixty-first 61st
Sixty-fourth 64th
Seventy-seventh 77th

4. Reinforcing the Concept

a. Name the fruit and tell its position from 21 st to 30th. Use (The students will perform the
mango as the point of reference and donate it as the 21 st. activity.)

21st 22nd 23rd 24th 25th 26th 27th 28th 29th 30th

b. Ask the students to answer the excercises on the power

point presentation.

Activity 2
Direction: Write the following ordinal numbers in symbol.
1.) Eighteenth _________
2.) Twenty-third _________
3.) Forty-third _________
4.) Eighty-first _________
5.) Twenty-fourth _________

5. Summarizing the Lesson/Generalization

What are ordinal numbers?
Ordinal number is a number that indicates the position or
order of something in relation to other numbers, like,
first, second, third, and so on. (Flashing the other ordinal
numbers)
What do they tell?
Lead your students to say that ordinal numbers are
numbers that indicate the position or order of an object
or numbers in relation to other object or number.
When objects are placed in order, we use ordinal
numbers to tell their position.
How are they written?
To write ordinal numbers in symbol, use superscript
letters st for numerals with the number 1 (1 st or first), nd
for numerals with the number 2 (2nd or second), rdfor (The students will perform the
numerals with the number 3 (3rd or third) and, th for activity.)
numerals with the number 4 and above (4 th, fourth; 29th,
twenty-ninth).
Examples of ordinal numbers are first, second, third, fourth,
twenty-ninth, eighty-eighth.

6. Application
Ask the students to answer the exercises on the power
point presentation and group them into 5 groups
Group Activity
A. Consider the situations below. Fill in the blanks with the
correct answer. Write your answer in your paper.
1. There are 35 pupils in Mrs. Loren’s list. Teresa comes
before the 31st pupil. Teresa is the _____ pupil in the list.
2. My mother is now 50 years old. After four years, she will
celebrate her ______ birthday.
B.
C. Repeat the order of the five objects up to the 100 th place.

1. Draw the object which is at the 21 st place?

2. Draw the 100th object?
IV. Evaluation
Ask the students to answer the exercises under Activity 4 in the power point presentation.
Activity 3
Direction: Study the pattern and identify the missing ordinal number as marked by the given
figure. Write on the paper.
