Narrative Report on the Gulayan.

SY- 2022-2023

The Gulayan is one of the program of the DepEd. It has an important role
in relation to Agriculture since it is the laboratory place for Agriculture major to
apply what was learned inside the classroom. To train the students to be
passionate organic vegetable growers this time being and also in the future for
their family consumption since the cost of vegetable in the market is very
expensive.

In line with our action plan , four were implemented this school year, the
other two will hopefully carried out at the end of this school year 2022-2023
because of time shortage .
Last September, we are able to produce seedlings of pechay and mustard
seedlings for them to transplan in their garden beds.
The Agriculture students applied what they learned, by planting pechay and
mustard seeds. After 15 days, they transplanted the seedlings in their own garden
beds. They were able to raise an amount of three hundred and seventy five pesos
(P375.00). Although the area is not as wide as other schools have, we are
planning to plant a variety of vegetables to test if these vegetables can adopt the
weather and environment in our garden area. The students and teacher agreed
also to carry out the construction of concrete garden box in the Gulayan sa
Paaralan area to be able to preserve the nutrients of the soil especially during
rainy season.
The Gulayan will be an avenue for students to experience the value of
manual work and the joy of planting for a refreshing environment.
Agriculture students will continue to produce organic vegetables for the
School Feeding Program and to generate income for Agriculture Major Fund.
