IV. Rationale:

The ADOPT-A-PLANT is a Brigada Eskwela project that aims to educate in learners

and school’s stakeholders the value of planting vegetables even in their own backyards and
free spaces in their homes to have sustainable fresh vegetable food supplies and can also be a
source of extra income. It also adheres to help the stakeholders to help in keeping our
environment clean and make the air fresher.

The Adopt-A-Plant Project as a part of the program Gulayan sa Paaralan and Brigada
Eskwela 2022 will serve as a mean to address the need to educate learners and stakeholders
education-related challenges in providing healthy foods on the table for every family and to
encourage more individuals to eat vegetables.Furthermore, this project targets to strengthens
and reinforces the integration of environmental education in Vicente P. Trinidad National
High School through the Project Makakalikasan in accordance with one of DepEd core
values, Makakalikasan.

It will also create opportunities for all stakeholders to contribute possible solutions to
the current gaps in the country’s education system, especially in environmental and health
education.

In line with this, the team would like to request help from DENR to make the project
possible. The ADOPT-A-PLANT Project will be needing seedlings and plants to be
distributed to learners, parents and other stakeholders on August 15-19, 2022. In addition, we
would also like to ask for loam soil to be used in Vicente P. Trinidad National High School’s
backyard garden as part of the Gulayan sa Paaralan at Tahanan project. This will be of great

help for the team to plant more vegetables and seedlings that will be distributed to more
stakeholders in the following months.
