Project Title
Kulay Berde Project - A Greenhouse Initiative for the Gulayan
sa Paaralan Program

Introduction
The Kulay Berde Project is an initiative that aims to establish a
greenhouse in a public school under the Gulayan sa Paaralan program. The
project will promote healthy eating habits among students, provide them
with hands-on learning opportunities, and teach them the importance of
environmental sustainability. The greenhouse will serve as a protected
environment for growing a variety of vegetables, and will enable year-round
cultivation, regardless of the weather.
Project Objectives
• To promote healthy eating habits among students through access to
fresh vegetables
• To provide hands-on learning opportunities for students in
greenhouse gardening
• To teach students about environmental sustainability and the benefits
of greenhouse gardening
• To establish a greenhouse in a public school
Project Activities
1. Site Assessment - Identify a suitable location within the school
premises for the greenhouse that is well-lit and sheltered from extreme
weather conditions.
2. Greenhouse Planning - Develop a greenhouse plan that includes the
layout, design, and resources required for construction and maintenance.
3. Resource Mobilization - Mobilize resources such as seeds, seedlings,
soil, compost, and greenhouse materials from various sources including
government agencies, private organizations, and community volunteers.
4. Greenhouse Establishment - Construct the greenhouse and prepare
the garden beds, plant the vegetables, and establish a watering and
maintenance schedule.
5. Training and Awareness - Conduct training sessions for teachers and
students on how to maintain the greenhouse, greenhouse gardening
techniques, and how to cook healthy meals using the vegetables grown in
the greenhouse.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation - Regularly monitor the greenhouse's
progress, evaluate the impact of the project on students' behavior, and
assess the sustainability of the project.

Expected Outcomes:
• Increased access to fresh and healthy vegetables among students
• Enhanced knowledge and skills in greenhouse gardening and healthy
cooking
• Increased awareness of environmental sustainability and greenhouse
gardening
• Improved academic performance due to hands-on learning
opportunities
• Improved physical health among students
• Improved community engagement and partnerships

Budget
The estimated cost for the project is [15,000]. The cost includes the
resources needed for the greenhouse establishment, training and awareness
sessions, and monitoring and evaluation activities.
Conclusion
The Kulay Berde Project will provide a platform for promoting healthy
eating habits, environmental sustainability, and hands-on learning
opportunities for students. With a greenhouse, students will be able to grow
a wider variety of vegetables year-round, regardless of the weather. The
project will also provide opportunities for partnerships and collaborations
with government agencies, private organizations, and community
volunteers. With support from these stakeholders, the project will be
successful in establishing a greenhouse in a public school and empowering
students to make healthier food choices.
