DETAILED Teacher Guzago, Reina Jane O. Learning Area Science

LESSON Teaching Date 60mins. Quarter 1st
PLAN and Time

I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
1. Describe Photosynthesis and its function
2. Show the process of Photosynthesis
3. value the importance of photosynthesis if all living organism

A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of

1. the structure and function of plant parts and organelles involved in photosynthesis

2. the structure and function of mitochondrion as the main organelle involved in

respiration

B. Performance Standard The learners should be able to design and conduct an investigation to provide evidence
that plants can manufacture their own food
C. Learning Competency The learners should be able to differentiate basic features and importance of

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Engagement Display some wacky weird plants at the front of the class so everyone can observe the
plant. And play some video from YouTube
B. Exploration The class will be group into 5 groups and make a poster to make a process of
photosynthesis. And present to the class.
C. Explanation 1. Discuss group output
2. Give appreciation on the best work done by the group
3. The question in the said picture
1 what is photosynthesis?
2 Do you ever wonder how it takes place?
3 what are the three things need in photosynthesis
4 what is the important of photosynthesis in plant
D. Elaboration The Process of Photosynthesis

Plants need food to respire, grow, and reproduce. Unlike animals, plants are able to make
their own food by the process photosynthesis
Photosynthesis take places in the part of the plant cell containing chloroplast, these are
small structure that contain chlorophyll
Photosynthesis to take place, plant need to take in carbon dioxide, water, and sun.
Carbon dioxide enters through the stomata in the underside of the leaf.
Water is absorbed by the root hair cells and is transported to the leaf by the xylem
vessels
Sunlight provides the energy needed for the photosynthesis to take place. In this process
carbon dioxide and water are converted to oxygen and glucose.
Oxygen is released through the stomata on the underside of the leaf: glucose is
transported around the plant.
Photosynthesis is important in living organism because it is the number one source of
oxygen in the atmosphere. And oxygen in the most important in our life. Also without
photosynthesis we were not able to eat vegetables and other plants.
