B. Motivation (Engage)
Class take to consider this image,
Q2. What are the two axis? X-axis represents Horizontal while Y-axis
represents Vertical motion.
Q3. X-axis represents what kind of motion? How about the Y-
axis?
t= time T= time
EQUATION
To get the time ∆ y =Viyt+1 /2 ay t (object at x-
2
vector)
Vfy=Viy + ayt (object in flat surface)
2
To get the height ∆ y =Viyt+1 /2 ay t
To get the range Vix=∆ x /t
To get the angle tanø=Viy/Vix
Formula:
A. ∆ y =Viyt+1 /2 ay t 2
B. ∆ x=Vix =∆ x /t
Solution: (For finding the time)
∆𝑦=𝑉𝑖𝑦𝑡+1/2𝑎𝑦𝑡^2
-10m=(0m/s)t+1/2(-9.8m/s2) 𝑡^2
-10m=1/2 (-9.8m/s2) 𝑡^2
(−10𝑚)/(−4.9𝑚/𝑠2)=(−4.9𝑚/𝑠2𝑡^2)/
(−4.9𝑚/𝑠2)
𝑡^2=√2.04𝑠2
t=1.43s
The teacher will give a sample problem and the students will
solve it on the board and explain it to their classmates.
Generalization
Can somebody from the class give the formula in finding the time
and range?
F. Evaluate
Direction: In ½ crosswise the students will solve the following.
You are at the top of the mango tree with 12m height harvesting
its fruit when one of your neighbours asks for one mango. If you
throw the mango at the speed of 8m/s, find
A. How long will the mango fall into the ground
B. How far is your neighbour from the tree?

Using your scientific calculator find the x and y vector of
the following using the following equation;
To get the x vector Vix=Vicosø
To get the y vector Viy=Visinø
1. Vix=Vicosø
1. Given: Vi= 13m/s ø= 60 =13m/scos60
Find: Vix and Viy Vix=6.5m/s
Viy=Visinø
=13m/ssin60
Viy=11.29m/s
2. Given: Vi= 15m/s ø= 70 2. Vix=Vicosø
Find: Vix and Viy =15m/scos70
Vix=5.13m/s
Viy=Visinø
=15m/ssin70
Viy=14.1m/s
Viy=Visinø
=18m/ssin〖80〗^𝑜
Viy=17.73m/s
A. Flight time
V𝑓𝑦=𝑉𝑖𝑦+𝑎𝑦𝑡
Om/s=17.73m/s+(-9.8m/s2)t
-17.73m/s=-9.8m/s2t
-9.8m/s2 -9.8m/s2
t=1.81s
t= 3.62s
b. range
∆𝑥=𝑉𝑖𝑥=∆𝑥/𝑡

∆𝑥=(3.13𝑚/s)(3.62s)
∆𝑥= 11.3m
c. Maximum height
