Make sure that themarking process does not cause deformations, that it is easily legible and remains
indelible in the enviromental service conditions typical of the component.
The marking area is usually indicated on drawing; in case no indication is given an appropriate area

shall be selected, such as not to be detrimental to the part during service.

stamping, punching, pressing or casting.

As a rule, characters shall be approx. 3 mm in height. The date is represented by the last digit of the
year ( ") followed by an upper case letter indicating the month according to the following table:

followed by a number of dots corresponding to the number of the month to be indicated. The dots shall

manufacturing are indicated by the the arrows pointing to the respective numbers. The year marking
covers a span of 6 years.
The value of the D diameter can be of 6, 8, 10, 16 or 20 mm
