Research Design
This study will utilize the causal-correlational research design which according to
Zigu (2011), it determines the underlying cause of a given behavior and finds the cause-
and-effect relationship between different variables. Therefore, with the help of this
method, the researchers will be able to ascertain if there is an influence of the level of
self-esteem on the clinical ward performance of third-year nursing students in Cor Jesu
College who are having clinical ward exposure for the month of October 2022.
Respondents
The respondents for this study will comprise all third-year nursing students from
one of the private nursing colleges in Digos City; Cor Jesu College, Inc. These purposive
samplings are full-time nursing students, who have clinical ward exposure for the month
of October 2022.
Sampling Procedure
The sampling process was carried out using predetermined criteria. The sample
respondents were picked based on their familiarity with and assessment of the sought-
after data. Only the third-year student nursing population coming from sections A and B
Research Instrument
The research instrument that the researchers will utilize is the causal-correlational
questions is used to collect data. The questionnaires will be based on observation during
clinical ward exposure and a review of the literature. The design is ideal because it will
allow data collection from the target population of participants via personal distribution
of the questionnaires. The collected data will be verbatim transcribed and analyzed by
identifying themes through coding and categorization. The interview will be held in a
private and therapeutic environment to ensure that the interview's objectives will be met.
