Engineering and R&D Services – Medical Devices

Globally, healthcare enterprises including providers and payers are constantly striving to achieve three major
objectives: Improve patient care experience, optimize health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs through
healthcare consulting.

HCL is Partner to all the Top 10 Medical Devices companies and 6 out of 10 Global IVD companies. HCL has 7000+
diversified FTEs to provide services across the Product Life Cycle right from Concept/Idea Generation to Product

Roles and Responsibilities

Candidates are expected to drive all aspects of Global Presales Activities for Business Acquisition with Fortune
500 and Global 2000 Medical Device Companies while interacting with Global Sales Teams, Practice Teams,
COEs, Delivery Teams, HCL’s Senior Management, developing competency before moving to a Team Lead for
Presales or a Global Sales role.

Research and Analysis


Market Analysis of Top 50 & SMB Medical Device companies, Key Accounts Business Planning and Account
Planning.

Strategy Formulation for Business Acquisition


Strategic Assignments – M&A Analysis of Companies Acquired, Product Portfolio study of Clients. Understanding
Client Business and Growth Strategy, Investments, CEO Business Vision and Direction.

Bid Management and Client Interactions


Manage Engineering Services Outsourcing Deals for Bid Management by Independently managing the RFI /
RFP process end to end for all deal deliverables – qualification, developing Win Strategy, Competition Analysis
and Positioning, Response, Lead cross-functional teams, Commercials, Bid Defence, Due Diligence, India Client
Visits, supporting contract negotiation .Manage Client visits for our Global Customers visit the Indian centres.
Participate in Onsite Global Events at USA and Europe. Win Kick Off, Communication, Change management and
Townhall participation.

Client Pitches and Business Acquisition


CXO Level Business Pitches and Propositions for the Medica Device business in co-ordination with Sales, Delivery
& Marketing teams. Create Proactive Proposals and Business Opportunities.
Create the 100 Million plus Business Ideas and work with ERS President and CEO Office to Pitch these ideas to
the Fortune 500 CXO Organization.

New business development


• Develop a list of prioritized SMB accounts to be pursued and Acquired
• Conduct research on the accounts to build intelligence. Develop propositions and collateral that can be
used by the sales team to make inroads into these new accounts
• Provide the sales team ideas on who to approach / what to show based on the intelligence gathered
and propositions developed.

Short Term Travel to USA, Europe for specific assignments and Deal related work.

Qualification & Experience (if required)

• MBA/PGDM with UG in B.E/B.Tech, with minimum 60% in 10th, 12th standard, UG and PG.
• Relevant exposure/work experience would be an added advantage.
Skillset Required
• A “can do” Positive attitude with Ownership
• A Strong communicator with an ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
• Understanding of IT / Engineering Outsourcing and Offshore Development Centre concept
• Has a knack for Business and financial modelling
• Good Understanding of Lifesciences/ Medical Device industry
• Strong written, verbal communication skills
• Excellent at PowerPoint presentations and Excel Spreadsheets
• Entrepreneurial in nature, attitude to continuously learn, thrive in an emerging industry, willing to take
initiative, self-driven to achieve goals in a start-up environment
• Work experience in MNC/Indian Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Companies, Start-ups, Hospitals
