Leak Tester
1. Laboratory Conditions
1.1 Lab Condition, Temperature 23 2℃ (73.4℉±3.6℉), Humidity 50±10%RH.The worktable must be steady,
unshakable. There shouldn’t be wind and articles which are combustible or explosive.
1.2 The power must be AC 220V±10% (110V±10%), 50Hz+/-0.5% (60Hz±0.5%), and the instant fluctuation
of voltage should be within 3V and connected to earth reliably. “N” (Neutral) and “E” (Earth) cannot be
misused and connected. Avoid using high-power equipment in the same line. This instrument should not
2. Instrument Installation
2.1 Unpack the instrument and put it on the worktable. Check the accessories.
2.3 Refer to the marks in the rear of mainframe, the port marked with “connected with clean compressed air” is
to be connected to customer’s gas source (compressor or gas tank) with output pressure 0.7MPa. The port
marked with “connected with vacuum chamber” is to be connected to the gas inlet of vacuum chamber.
3. Sample
The sample can be either a heat-sealed pouch or a bottle which has been conditioned according to related
4. Test
4.1 Turn on power switch and warm up the instrument for 30min before test.
4.2 Fill the vacuum chamber with water and put the specimen into it. Set the cover on the vacuum chamber.
Make sure it’s sealed well by wetting the sealing ring and pressing it with the cover tightly. The depth of
4.3 Press “S” key, P1 and its value could flicker at intervals, press “△”, “ ” on the pressure gauge to alter it to
your desired value. And this value should be 1kPa more than the desired pressure. For example: if the
4.4 Press “S” key once more, the LED of pressure gauge will show P2 and its value, press “△”, “ ” on the
pressure gauge to alter it to your desired value. This value must be the test pressure you really need.
4.5 Then press “S” again to save parameters and LED will show you the current pressure. Now the setting of

Leak Tester
4.6 Press “SETUP” key on the mainframe. At the moment, the buzzer makes sounds on and off. The figure on
the left side of LCD flickers on and off. Adjust the desired time (i.e. 5min) by pressing up or down arrow
keys and press “STOP” key. At the moment, the buzzer stops working and the figure “5” on the left side of
LCD stops flickering. The corresponding time “300s” will be displayed on the right side of LCD.
4.7 Press “TEST” key and vacuum generator inside the tester starts working. You can hear some sounds from
the inner tester. In the meantime, pressure gage will display real-time pressure. Once the pressure reaches
preset value -60kPa (P2), the vacuum generator stops working and dwell time will count down. During test,
in case the pressure is higher than P1, that is -59kPa (for example -58kPa), the generator will work
automatically again. The vacuum remaining status begins after the vacuum degree reaches -59kPa, in
which process users can observe the sealability of samples and confirm if there’re bubbles appearing.
When dwell time comes to the last 10s, the buzzer begins buzzing on and off again which indicates the test
will be over. The system starts “Reverse” process automatically when dwell time becomes 0. When the
pressure displayed on pressure gauge is 0 or close to 0, press “STOP” key and buzzer stops buzzing which
means the test is finished. Open the cover and replace the specimen. Do another test.
4.8 In case the specimen is broken during vacuum holding status, users can press “STOP” key and then
“REVERSE” key to release the pressure inside the vacuum chamber. When the pressure displayed on
pressure gauge is 0 or close to 0, press “STOP” key again and then take out the specimen.
4.9 Shut off power supply and gas source after test.
5. Precautions
5.1 The highest vacuum degree that the tester can reach is -90kPa.
5.2 The cover of vacuum chamber must be sealed well with the sealing ring. Otherwise, the preset pressure
cannot be reached.
5.3 Do not set too high output pressure. Perform the test according to instruction manual.
