EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

South Cotabatoeños Souvenir Shop situated in Rafael Alunan Avenue, City of

Koronadal, South Cotabato. In today’s highly competitive environment, it is becoming
increasingly more difficult to differentiate between one souvenir shop to another. It
looks like all the souvenir shops in the tourist places are selling similar goods and
are looking alike. “South Cotabatoeños Souvenir Shop” unlike a typical souvenir
shop, will provide a unique combination of souvenirs and will introduce as a new
product. Our products are divided in 3 categories: 1) souvenirs, 2) Mosaic pictures
about South Cotabato and 3) bags and purses. Souvenirs are 80% of our production
because our main target group are tourists. We offer a variety of handmade
souvenirs: native bags, cups, T-shirts, key chains, and many more.

Souvenirs will be high-quality hand made products in authentic and in the same
time artistic style. The diversity of art products and the materials they are made of
will attract a lot of customers at fair prices.

The second category of our production is mosaics. Although the “art and souvenir
market” in the town is in great competition we will bring out something new to the
market. South Cotabatoeños Souvenir Shop will be innovative as appearing with
mosaic pictures both as reproductions of masterpieces and original ones. The new
material: mosaics distinguish from traditional ceramic pieces of art, in which the
region is very familiar with. We expect that art lovers in the region will be fascinated
of our works. Mosaics will represent 10% of total production respectively. Our shop
name also stands for extravagancy, art and style.

The third product category is “bags and purses”. It represents 10% of total
production.

The manager of the store will be Rashel Ann Dela Cruz and the supervisor will
be Julia Ericka V. Cañeta, who will be supported by their family. The brother of
Rashel Ann will be one of the artists, who make mosaics. The startup expenses will
be financed as investing family savings.

II. PROBLEM

Every business will nee to face any challenges to keep sustained success in the
industry. As a new business, we also must face many things to achieve our
company’s goal.

 First of all, before we successfully finalized the products that we were going to
sell, we gave our opinions and ideas. This leads us to have different products
on the list.

 We also have to face a conflict in choosing the supplier for the materials of
our products for our business. We need to find the best supplier that offers the
most reasonable price for us to produce the souvenirs. The cost must be tele
with our starting capital.

 Lastly, the location of our business. Based on our researches, there is another
souvenir shop that is also placed near our shop.

2
III. SOLUTION

 In the first problem of choosing the products for our business, we come up
with the idea of voting. We had faced a healthy argument on choosing the
best products for our business. After brainstorming for a week, we finally
came out with the idea of producing a creative and trendy product. We
centralized on a modern and nature designs and finally decided to produce
these products: bracelets, necklace, tote bags, native bags, cell phone cases,
tees, refrigerator magnets, key chains, and mosaic pictures.

 To solve the second problem, everyone has done their research on all
possible suppliers until we find the best one to choose.

 We are aware that there are some souvenirs shops around Koronadal City,
which is why we spent time and resources to conduct through feasibility
studies and market survey so as to offer much more than our competitors will
be offering. To make our product outstand the competitors in our business, we
will ensure the quality and safety of our products always satisfy our
customers. Additionally, we will use social media frequently to create content
and advertise our products in order to expand our business global presence.
