Levexon® LCD Liq

Low foam leveling cum dispersing agent for Polyester dyeing

SUMMARY

Levexon® LCD Liq is a levelling cum dispersing agent for application of

Disperse dyes on polyester. It controls the exhaustion rate of disperse
dyes for optimum level dyed shades in rapid dyeing system of
sensitive colours. Levexon® LCD Liq also helps in stripping/re-levelling
of faulty-dyed polyester and as a printing retardant for obtaining half-
tone colour effects.

Advantages
 Levelling effect was improved by enhancing the migration of
disperse dyes during application on polyester
 Gives very good dispersion for dyes with big molecules and their
combination with other dyes
 Does not impede full colour yield
 Acts as a stripping agent at higher usage levels

Features

 Low foaming
 Uniform dyeing for dyes with different molecule size
 Promotes re-levelling of dyestuff in faulty dyed polyester

Storage

Levexon® LCD Liq is stable in storage to normal climatic conditions.

After freezing, it will return to the normal liquid form, if allowed to
warm back to ambient room temperature naturally. Likewise
prolonged storage at temperature up to 600C has caused no
detrimental effect

Physical Properties

Type Non-ionic

Composition Blend of non-ionic surfactants

Appearance Amber coloured free flowing liquid

Solubility Dispersible in water

Compatible with anionic or cationic products, moderate

Compatibility
concentrations of acid and alkali and unaffected by hard water

Application
In high-temperature dyeing equipment, at the commencement of the dyeing cycle add

Levexon® LCD Liq 1.0 to 2 gm/litre

Acid buffer 1.0 to 4 gm/litre to set the desired pH level

The dispersed dyestuffs are then added to the bath and temperature gradually raised to the
peak dyeing temperature (130o to 1350 C), maintained there as required, followed by the
cooling phase, and draining.

For stripping faulty dyeing, level of Levexon® LCD Liq is raised to 10 - 14 gm/litre, pH adjusted to
5 with 1 to 2 gm/litre Buffer and the material treated at 1300 to 1350C for 60 to 90 minutes.

Half-tone printed colour effects can be obtained by using a blank print paste containing 2.5
parts Levexon® LCD Liq per 100 parts of paste as a base or overprint (wet-on-wet) depending
on the design, followed by high-temperature fixation in loop-steamer.
