EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 06 SERIES 2020

RE-ORGANIZING THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN (MCPC)

OF CONCEPCION, ROMBLON

WHEREAS, to ensure the rights and welfare of each LGU is encourage to organize a Local
Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC);
WHEREAS, LCPC serves as the umbrella organization for all children’s concern in all levels
of LGU;
WHEREAS, to promote a child-friendly environment in the LGU, the MCPC shall be up to
date, to suit the needs of the children;
NOW, THEREFORE, I HON. MEDRITO F. FABREAG JR., Municipal Mayor of Municipality of
Concepcion, Romblon, do hereby order and direct the following:
Section 1. COMPOSITION. The Municipal Council for the Protection of Children shall be:

Section 2. FUNCTIONS: The MPDC roles, responsibilities and functions are follows:
1. Plan, promote and institutionalized child-friendly policies, programs and projects;
2. Respond immediately to issues and concerns affecting children;
3. Optimize and mobilize local resources;
4. Train, educate and mobilize community leaders and families;
5. Empower and assist in organizing the children sector in the community;
6. Coordinate local initiatives for children including linkages and networking with
other agencies and institutions;
7. Test and replicate model programs to protect children;
 8. Systematize development management including the establishment and
maintenance and database for children;
9. Recommend local legislation promoting child survival, protection, participation
and development;
10. Conduct capability building programs to enhance knowledge and skills in
handling children’s program;
11. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the program for LCPC; and
12. Perform such functions as provided for the ECCD and other related laws.

Section 3. MCPC SECRETARIAT

The MSWDO Officer shall provide secretariat support from her staff that shall be
responsible for the documentation of proceedings of meetings and preparation of the
reports and other documents as needed by the committee.

Section 4. REPORTING SYSTEM

The LGU shall submit the annual report on the status of the implementation of municipal
plan for the children. The report shall be submitted to the DILG Provincial Office every 1 st
Quarter of the following year.

Section 5. FUNDING
The funding shall be provided by the Municipal Government to support the program.

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
